Could someone please tell me if the alternate fuel predictions page its working?
I get a calculation that is below what my simbrief OFP estimated (1.1 tons calculated by the Fenix MCDU, 1.6 tons from my OFP) so I enter the more conservative calculation from the OFP.
I don´t know how this discrepancy would be handled in real life.
EDIT: Oh, you mean during flight… No, it does not appear to be working…
Does anyone know why Fenix doesn’t allow doing manual arrival ( landing) ?
have they ever thought
someone might want to adjust
their flight equimpments sensivity by doing multiple landings?
I am not sure if I understand, but you can preform manual flying amd landings.
Just turn off autopilot.
Of course you are still on am airbus. So Fly-by-wire is still supporting you to stay within safe parameters.
no I was referring to manual landing where u can choose “set as arrival” and do as many landing as u want!
doing so is only possible in the fbw320 or pmdg 737 but fenix won’t allow it and ends up facing the ground!
Ah. My misunderstanding.
no I think I couldn’t get my point across properly.
If you mean an arrival without a STAR hmm that is possible with manual GPS coordinate waypoints, of flying manually to the vicinity of the airport trying to catch the glideslope, or going to a waypoint that looks like 30 miles away from the airport in a straight line to the landing runway, and trying to catch the ILS glideslope while flying closer to the airport.
Programming the MCDU without a SID and a STAR is possible (at least I think so… have I ever tried?
Maybe… not fully sure.)
No, I’m saying why
when i spawn on the plane ( thorugh “set as arrival” )
it ends up being on the ground
instead of in the air ?
The plane is right in a straight line of facing the runway، but it’s on the ground instead of airborne.
Since most of the Fenx aircraft is an external app reading and writing info to the sim, it probably doesn’t understand in-flight starts that aren’t from a saved scenario ( can you do that with the Fenx?)
PMDG and FBW are totally contained inside the sim and don’t have the same compromises.
It probably is, but what’s interesting is
that the plane is actually in the air,
but when I hit the flight button (yellow one)
it appears to be on the ground at the last sec, as if the plane crashed.
I saw the same behavior with the default neo320 in the FS academy Jetliner tutorials. In air lesson start, but the plane is on the ground… So maybe its also a MSFS problem?
for me, having it only with the fenix!
the rest are fine!
My opinion,
Spawn at a hangar..taxi to the runway and Take off and Vector yourself to the ILS to work on ur landing
sky dolly is a better idea!
Have you tried setting an altitude in Navlog, before starting your flight?
You can also set a custom origin, lined up on the approach for your target runway. For example, if you wish to practise landings on a runway 9, set a custom origin due west of the runway and set an appropriate altitude for the approach in Navlog. The destination/arrival is, of course, your target runway.
Yep during the fligth i meant, fuel predicted to altenate its not working , hope the fix it
By the way… why aren´t the low and high airways maps I always so urgently needed for navigation no longer in the EFB? (I need this for navigation because waypoints cannot be read on the cockpit navigation display - the ND becomes so blurry and cluttered and the letters of the waypoints are above each other when zooming out).
They are blacked out for one or two months now, now they are completely gone from the EFB.
Does anyone know what happened?
It might just be a change in the interface that Navigraph have implemented, in the API for their enroute charts, that Fenix have yet to catch up on.
Either way, I suspect it’ll be back soon.
I’m confused why you can’t read them from the ND. Did you reach out to Fenix to troubleshoot that issue? I’d rather read them the way a pilot should rather than use the EFB as a crutch.
