[A319, A320, A321] Fenix High-Fidelity Aircraft

They said it was in beta. It stays in beta until it’s ready for release and then we get to play. I doubt they are doing much other than trying to fix every issue they find to get it ready for release. It seems Fenix have relatively long beta phase because of their exceptionally high quality bar.

It can’t be that precise because there are pretty obvious bugs in every update. They didn’t notice that the cabin lighting from the outside no longer works? Please…

I just find it interesting that it’s been “in beta” for such an extended period of time. Especially since this is nothing more (or less) than a very straightforward derivative of the 320. I would think that the only thing that would take some serious time is tweaking the flight model.

Update has been dropped

I thought the same when seeing A319 TAP Air Portugal at EHAM this week as we were rolling.

Does this mean I’m allowed to do speedbird 1 flights soon :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

Or was that A318??

Will sneak in & out of LCY either way

Yes, that was A318, I think. To be honest, I wasn’t sure if that was A319 what I saw at EHAM, I had to check on flightradar24. First I thought it’s A318, it looked really short. Can’t wait for the Fenix A319 anyway.

I now can’t stop thinking about how even cuter the A318 would be and with the New York flights maybe that’s the next one we all really need :sob::sob:

You couldn’t tell the difference though, sure it will be fine.

any sign of a save and restore facility on this plane like the pmdg .

Yes I’d love to have a Fenix A318! They seem to think there’s not enough market for it though, so perhaps head over to their discord and start offering cash for it, we might get lucky!

Edited so not to offend we do need to support all simmers and support those need other capabalities unfortunately although promised save an redtore not implemented

Has anyone experienced an issue where the altitude on the FCU get randomly changed to some other altitude other than what you set in pre-flight? I’ve only noticed this when taxiing…for example, I set it to 23000 before pushback, and while taxiing to the runway, it mysteriously was set to 49000 feet (!). I’ve never had this setting change after takeoff, FWIW.

It could well be my controls (StreamDecks + Spad.Next), but thought I’d check here before I start digging in more.

I just wonder where did you get that “promise”. As even you stated in 2022 July, the fenix support told you directly “No support, maybe in the future”. Also Dave explained few times, what’s the issue with flight states…

Works perfect with other developers aircraft so would be good to know the technical difficulties .In the end if a developer does not want to add functionality and to be honest a small but very vocal amount of users dont want it . What can you do. Shame in lots of ways this looks like a great aircraft . For me will always remain in the scrap hanger . To be fair Fenix are not the only ones TFDI and Inibuilds are exactly the same . This will only change if users want it to . For the moment PMDG all the way for me.

Suddenly this is what I could dig up from discord, this could give you a better insight.

“The current panel-state/saving system, is cumbersome for users & us to develop. We’re going to try and implement a scratch-built system that has a lot more flexibility and options at some point, but no ETAs etc.”

“We are working on a new save/load state system, but it’s a lot of work as every part of the code needs to be built with state-saving/loading in mind. It’s a lot of work, but we’re working towards it. PMDG have 25+ years of code maturity to have developed and worked this into their systems, fair to say we haven’t quite had that much time to work on this

“We are aware and want it as much as you guys do, but our system architecture which allows for these extremely advanced features (being external) also makes it a totally different animal to implement flight state saving/loading compared to an aircraft built using purely internally available toolsets. It will come as soon as we can, but it’s a colossal amount of work.”

thanks for that discord i find a nightmare useful insight to the thinking .Asobo save flight is poor and requires at least two extra third party utilities to work well Flow pro and active sky but with a good panel save works well . Fenix I am afraid is still a no go for me but nice to see they had considered . The last time I had heard anything from Fenix the suggestion would be during the v2 software . Very annoying to see nothing no mention. As i see hidden in discord.

Fellas, it seems my Nav&Logo lights aren’t working when airborne. They work fine (as in illuminate my tail) when on the ground.

Is this normal ? As in IRL they switch off automatically when airborne or… is this a bug ?

My Wing lights work both on the ground and airborne.

No problem for me. Maybe you have a double assignment in the settings that switches off the nav light
