[A319, A320, A321] Fenix High-Fidelity Aircraft

Having done both transitions, following respective breaks in usage, I found the transition from the B737 to the A320 far more straightforward than vice versa.

Indeed it was pretty easy to get back in the swing of things. The Fenix tablet really makes set up very easy.

Did 3 legs for Spirit tonight, first in the 320 and the other two in the 319. Man those IAE’s are something else.

319 is my favorite so far, love the loudness. Don’t tell the FAA but I’ve been flying with the FD door open :joy:

Anyways, off to take the 321 for a spin.

WOW and WOW
I am not into Airbus… But I thought that I would give the Fenix Airbus family a try. And I am taken back on how good it is. All the little treats inside of the aircraft is just amazing. It is the best in the Sim and I can’t wait to see what Fenix does next.
WOW and WOW.

I was hardcore PMDG but tried the A320 on a lark. Never looked back. The Fenix products are at the top of the commercial jet market.

Took the A320 up after installing the latest update. Maybe it was just a one off but I noticed a pretty significant frame rate / stuttering issue. Also, I thought I read that they addressed the sound of the electric hydraulic pumps spooling up at engine start. I monitored this in the cabin, when the pump became energized, the cabin announcement cut out but there were no other sound effects.

Fortunately I don’t have to limit myself just to one aircraft and flying only Airbus exclusively would get me bored, no matter how great Fenix’ Airbuses are.

Yesterday I flew both A319 and A321 and the latter probably became my favourite from Fenix at the moment. It was climbing to the cruise level significantly longer and it really feels heavier and somewhat more stable than the pocket rocket A319. Well done, Fenix.

What a coincidence. I usually fly this route in A320 or A32n but today Easyjet decided to assign me A319-100. Gonna tell the pilots I can take over as I`m A319 type rated by Fenix now :sunglasses:

The way these are bundled is unfortunate for new customers who are only interested in the 319 or 321. I mainly want to get the 319 but have to buy the full bundle for around $105 to get it when I could get the 320 for $65. Sure, I’d be getting all 3 planes for that, but it would be nice to at least have the option to purchase just one for around the same price as the 320.

At least new customers get it cheaper than existing customers.

Absolutely loving having the Fenix in the fleet now!

Another hardcore PMDG/Boeing guy but I think the 73’s are getting moved to Pinal for storage :joy:

I get your point, but most of us already had the A320 and the bundled A319 and A320 saved us money. I guess it’s just one of those things.

In order to use the bundled A319 and A321 you need to have the A320 bundle installed. So, your assumption is incorrect. Personally, I enjoy having all 3.

I agree, posting as a potential new customer.

The outlay for all three is not insignificant (don’t think I would want all three anyway) even if it is good value for all the aircraft.

Perhaps though there is a good reason why this is done by way of an expansion rather than as 3 standalone products?

I am afraid it is you that is incorrect.

There is a discount for new purchasers of the A320.

If one previously owned the A320, and now buy the A319 and A321 expansion, the total cost for all three aircraft is, in my currency, £89.98.

If one is a new Fenix customer and did not own the A320, to buy the A320 and the expansion is £79.99.

Therefore, new customers get the total package cheaper than existing customers, as I said.

But that wasn’t my point was it?

My point or query centered on the fact that to get the new addons you needed to buy the original fenix first and I wondered if there was a good reason for not having the three as separate products but as a tied purchase.

Not criticising the developer here, who seems very talented and well thought of, but rather wondering about the decision process to sell as an expansion rather than 3 or 2 separate products. Seems like a quite reasonable question I would have thought.

Great! Enjoy. It’s a great deal.

I’m sorry, I wasn’t aware that I had had any discourse with you over the pricing of the Fenix products, maybe you could point me to it.

As it happens, I also would have preferred the products and pricing to be three stand-alone items.

I also think it is harsh on existing A320 customers who have supported Fenix previously to have to pay more then new customers. I prefer the general trend of rewarding loyal customers rather than new ones.

Yes, it is a great deal I agree.

I might even go buy them all when I get my new PC. Being mainly a GA simmer though I don’t know if I would get use out of all 3 of them.

Its the same as the Aerosoft CRJ (not that I’m trying to compare fenix to AS as a dev, im 100% not) but you needed the CRJ-700 to buy the -900 and -1000 expansion. They use the base -700 code for much of their operation, and can’t be installed without the -700 first. I imagine the Fenix A319/321 are the same, they use A320 base code and need it installed to work.

PMDG has gone the individual model route for ~$75-ish, give or take, which everyone also complains about. No dev can win at this game, its just personal choice how they package the addon. Someone will complain either way. The fenix bundle for all 3 variants is still cheaper than 2 PMDG models, but you’re paying a ‘premium’ for the most high fidelity aircraft produced in a modern flight sim, so overall, the fenix pricing for all 3 is quite good.

Whichever which way, it is still a good deal, and I will get more enjoyment out of these three aircraft than the similar price of lunch out.
