Having done both transitions, following respective breaks in usage, I found the transition from the B737 to the A320 far more straightforward than vice versa.
WOW and WOW
I am not into Airbus… But I thought that I would give the Fenix Airbus family a try. And I am taken back on how good it is. All the little treats inside of the aircraft is just amazing. It is the best in the Sim and I can’t wait to see what Fenix does next.
WOW and WOW.
Took the A320 up after installing the latest update. Maybe it was just a one off but I noticed a pretty significant frame rate / stuttering issue. Also, I thought I read that they addressed the sound of the electric hydraulic pumps spooling up at engine start. I monitored this in the cabin, when the pump became energized, the cabin announcement cut out but there were no other sound effects.
Fortunately I don’t have to limit myself just to one aircraft and flying only Airbus exclusively would get me bored, no matter how great Fenix’ Airbuses are.
Yesterday I flew both A319 and A321 and the latter probably became my favourite from Fenix at the moment. It was climbing to the cruise level significantly longer and it really feels heavier and somewhat more stable than the pocket rocket A319. Well done, Fenix.
What a coincidence. I usually fly this route in A320 or A32n but today Easyjet decided to assign me A319-100. Gonna tell the pilots I can take over as I`m A319 type rated by Fenix now
The way these are bundled is unfortunate for new customers who are only interested in the 319 or 321. I mainly want to get the 319 but have to buy the full bundle for around $105 to get it when I could get the 320 for $65. Sure, I’d be getting all 3 planes for that, but it would be nice to at least have the option to purchase just one for around the same price as the 320.
In order to use the bundled A319 and A321 you need to have the A320 bundle installed. So, your assumption is incorrect. Personally, I enjoy having all 3.
My point or query centered on the fact that to get the new addons you needed to buy the original fenix first and I wondered if there was a good reason for not having the three as separate products but as a tied purchase.
Not criticising the developer here, who seems very talented and well thought of, but rather wondering about the decision process to sell as an expansion rather than 3 or 2 separate products. Seems like a quite reasonable question I would have thought.
I’m sorry, I wasn’t aware that I had had any discourse with you over the pricing of the Fenix products, maybe you could point me to it.
As it happens, I also would have preferred the products and pricing to be three stand-alone items.
I also think it is harsh on existing A320 customers who have supported Fenix previously to have to pay more then new customers. I prefer the general trend of rewarding loyal customers rather than new ones.
Its the same as the Aerosoft CRJ (not that I’m trying to compare fenix to AS as a dev, im 100% not) but you needed the CRJ-700 to buy the -900 and -1000 expansion. They use the base -700 code for much of their operation, and can’t be installed without the -700 first. I imagine the Fenix A319/321 are the same, they use A320 base code and need it installed to work.
PMDG has gone the individual model route for ~$75-ish, give or take, which everyone also complains about. No dev can win at this game, its just personal choice how they package the addon. Someone will complain either way. The fenix bundle for all 3 variants is still cheaper than 2 PMDG models, but you’re paying a ‘premium’ for the most high fidelity aircraft produced in a modern flight sim, so overall, the fenix pricing for all 3 is quite good.
