[A319, A320, A321] Fenix High-Fidelity Aircraft

I’m at Pyreegue’s EGPF, but it’s happened 3 times straight now, so seems more than random. Not related to GSX as even when I don’t use GSX it was still happening.

I had exactly the same with the neo. First I thought it’s IniBuilds’ bug because it happened to me only in that airplane but apparently it’s a msfs2024 bug.

mmmm I blamed it on GSX, since it happened just after GSX pushback.
But who knows…
Too many variables at play in my case: MSFS 2024 just 10 days old + Fenix Experimental 4 or 5 days old + GSX + BATC + MSFS 2020 payware airports (in my case LEPA) copied into 2024 community…
What surprises me is that my setup behaves relatively well with this mix of ingredients, with just some occasional glitches such as this one…
EDIT: May be the problem is not the aircraft but using MSFS 2020 airports into 2024…

And it doesn’t happen with other airplanes? Because I remember that it was my first flight with one of my controllers and I used the preset from Asobo and then realized that some controls acted against each other (for example throttle axis was mapped to the throttles and also to the rudder!). So check your controller assignments if there are no conflicts (that are now nicely indicated in the settings with numbers of conflicts).

That’s definitely worth checking thanks. I’ve been having a hard time figuring that bit out, it’s all so new & it creates so many new copies of profiles. I do have a non FS2024 one and it was working fine on other smaller aircraft, this is admittedly the first airliner I’ve tried in FS2024, so it could well be an assignment issue.

In the new EFB with simbrief add in, you have to select your departure gate first in the world map then hit “import route” which loads the route into the world map, BUT it still says VFR there? Why? and how do you change that flight plan to IFR? It’s all so confusing now with the new planner being there.

I make a flightplan with Simbrief and import it to the EFB + MCDU in Fenix, like in FS20. The same with IniBuilds airplanes. I haven’t had to deal with the new flightplanner yet.

I only made one copy of a preset from Asobo, gave it some reasonable name like My Controller and then I set it as default and for all airplanes. And from that point I normally edit my controls in this custom profile. So there is just one copy needed (for one type of controller).

Is “I make a flightplan with Simbrief and import it to the EFB” this the simbrief default sim EFB plugin that you are using? Or the old simbrief download tool and then import it somehow?

In FS2020 I used to export the flightplan, import it into World map for ATC select IFR in world map planner and then import simbrief data into Fenix EFB and it all worked. This new EFB step is doing my head in. The world map always says “VFR” no matter what I try to do before launching a flight.

Simbrief data in new EFB - I hit ‘IMPORT ROUTE’ from here.

Because I use BATC I can skip this internal EFB import/export mumbo jumbo thing. BATC and Fenix EFB take my flightplan from Simbrief.

Right, that would explain it.

After a complete reinstall of Fenix I’m now not getting any of the screens to switch on. Only the Fenix EFB turns on. Time for another sim restart. All evening spent debugging things.

I found it working better for me if I remove Fenix bootstrapper from the exe.xml and start the Fenix app manually after I load into the flight. That way it’s more reliable (in FS20 too) and displays and EFB work every time.

I’m not sure if the stuck aeroplane problem is the same for you but there’s clearly a bug in FS24 that does this randomly to any aircraft.

It’s not happened to me on the Fenix yet, but it did happen on some prop planes that worked at other times, it was not a binding or setup issue.

On the pipstrel virus I had this and had to abort the flight but it worked later. On a float plane I also had this, eventually I found that using slew mode to put it in the water let me take off. But on landing back on a runway the aircraft instantly destroyed itself. More FS24 broken oddness.

There is undoubtedly some strange 2024 sim weirdness going on, but finally no braking /stuck to tarmac issues for me today thank goodness. Interesting to hear that it could be a 2024 thing on other aircraft too.

Latest thing for me today with the Fenix is after finally getting airborne I hit sim pause for a 2 minute break (during flight) came back hit unpause, and Fenix had lost it’s license, all screens blank/reset fenix checking for licence again, AP disconnected, aircraft headed in a nosedive, flightplan lost, quit {again} just unacceptable.

It’s also struggling FPS wise at 3rd party FS2020 airports, and also has the sluggish fenix EFB response and I find OHP button have a slow (delayed) response too. I hope they continue to patch it. Still haven’t finished a flight in it yet, but I’m airborne again. Wish me luck!

Don’t use pause or the settings menus during a flight in FS24!

In another unbelievable regression on FS24 compared to FS20 when you hit escape or whatever to pause and enter the menus it disconnects all of the apps using simconnect, which is basically everything. It breaks Fenix, BATC, GSX, everything. It’s an astonishingly bad change and really shows that someone in charge of it doesn’t know what’s going on.

After the latest update of BATC that’s no longer case with this addon.

But I had issues with ESC pause already in FS20. Especially PMDG airplanes got nasty and some other addons. Then I developed a habit of using the active pause.

Yes they’ve found a workaround. Probably every externally connected app is going to have to build workarounds for this now.

So I just got a new PC. I really am not inclined to go back to 2020, so I’ve installed 2024. First flight in a GA aircraft went perfect so I’m off to a relatively good start (at least compared to some others). How should I migrate the Fenix A3X over to the new PC and into 2024? I’ve got my entire 2020 Community Folder saved, would that be sufficient or should I just delete all the Fenix content and re-download? Also, regarding some other apps that enhance my airline flight ops, I understand GSX works well with 2024, does anyone know if FSLTL works? I can’t go back to empty airports or aircraft with MFSF’s generic liveries.

Can you get liveries to show up in '24? Installed via Fenix liveries manager and not available to select using the ‘liveries’ option, though I understand it’s a bit borked

The Fenix installer is probably the best route to getting your A3** series aircraft onto FS24. It’s been updated to allow us to do so.

As @Lochboisdale says, the livery manager will allow you to get your selected liveries.
