[A319, A320, A321] Fenix High-Fidelity Aircraft

Yep and it’s specific to each airport and runway across all the Fenix variants once you’ve created it so you only need to do it once. I created a custom intersection departure for 10L at ORD for taxiway DD which is the normal departure point for all aircraft unless full length is requested

I’ve been flying more airlines recently and am considering the Fenix a320. Hopefully someone can help me with a few questions:

How is the performance compared to the default iniBuilds Airbuses?

Can you popout the screens to a different monitor with the right Alt key?

Is there an option for an external MCDU in a browser like the Fly By Wire a320 has?

How big are the differences between an a320 and the a319/321? Would someone new to airliners notice a big difference?

Fenix released a blog article discussing the differences between all three types, it’s quite interesting, suggest you give it a read. Fenix did a good job of modeling the handling differences of all three versions.

Personally, I don’t see any difference when switching between these three. Maybe A319 is harder to slow down on approach but that’s it. I’d never tell just from sitting in the cockpit what plane I am flying :).

The biggest difference between the A320/A319 and the A321 is that the A321 is longer, so when taking off or landing you have to be careful with the pitch as you could get a good tail strike.
Then, of course, there’s the handling. The A319, being smaller, is more nervous and is more affected by wind gusts than its bigger brothers. Otherwise, the cabins and systems are identical (or very similar) between the three variants.

For me it’s almost the same, but it depends of your system

I think yes, but I’ve never done it.

The same, I think yes, but I’ve never done it.

Have a look in the knowledge base part of the Fenix web site. E.g.:

To access the Web MCDU

The Web MCDU is available as an extra app in the external EFB. To access:

1. Localhost in your web browser
Open up a new tab in your browser and enter http://localhost:8083/

You should then have an MCDU App.

2. External Device

For those using their external tablet, you can open up the EFB and the app should be available to use. For a guide on how to use the EFB on an external device: Linking your tablet to the EFB

You can now click/tap on the MCDU screen and this will remove the buttons. Useful for any external displays.

One of the main differences is, that you can end a flight or abort a flight without killing the game. Going back to the main menu seems not to be possible with inibuilds Airbuses or even every inibuilds planes in ms 2024.

Actually, it’s with every plane that uses simconnect or the networking api to import Simbrief plan for example. Fenix is different because most of the “networking” happens outside of the game. Default ATR is also affected.

I’ve noted that since moving over to 2024 (and a new gaming rig), when I arm the spoilers for auto extension on the ground, they often de-arm 10 or so seconds later. Any idea if this is a glitch? I’m using the same controls and bindings as I did in 2020.

Also, I’m having a hard time getting my throttle to find and stay in the Climb and Flex detents. Tried increasing the null zone a few percentage points, no real change. Is there some way to fix this? Kinda annoying having to move the throttle back and forth on takeoff trying to get it locked into the correct detent.

Last (probably dumb) question of the AM - One of my liveries has disappeared from the sim. I downloaded AA, DL and UA liveries for the A320. All three show in the livery manager and I’ve flown with all of them in the past. However, my last two flights, I cannot find the AA scheme in 2024. No idea what is going on here.

I just joined the ranks of 3D printer owners yesterday. I own the Boeing Thrustmaster Throttle Quadrants. For flying the Fenix, I have some visual markings for CLB and FLEX, and just use standard reverser actions like a Boeing, which works, but…

Does anyone know of any 3D plans for Airbus-like Throttle detents that can be used on the Boeing TM Quads? I hunted around but couldn’t find anything.

  1. I’ve never experienced that spoilers behaviour in FS24. A controller/binding conflict?

  2. I have a physical detent on one of my controllers which works fine but on TurtleBeach VelocityOne there is no detent and sometimes I also have a hard time to hit the detent in FS24. I think they still need to work on this.

  3. All liveries are there but FS24’s airplane/livery selection is a mess. Sometimes you must search for a livery under another livery which is shown as a variant, not only under CFM/IAE variants. The FS24 model of Fenix A320 is the same, so all liveries should work.

Is this why my game suddenly started freezing when I bought the INI A300 and tried exiting to the main menu?

That’s a well known bug with all IniBuilds aircraft. Both sides know about it. I guess it will be fixed in the upcoming big update.

Oh great. Thanks for the info.

Since the “upgrade” to 2024, I’ve noted a good number of ECAS “landing inhibit” and a lesser number of “takeoff inhibits” warnings. In all cases, I’m pretty sure I’m stabilized and have everything properly set up in the cockpit. Any idea what issue(s) could be?

Loads of posts about this! Its normal to reduce distractions at peak work times

Thank you. I just never recalled seeing this when flying in 2020. Must have been present I suppose. Thanks again.

Any users in here using the RTX2080 Super (and possibly AMD Ryzen 7 3700X , 32 gb ram)? I do my GA flights with the Caravan (Black Square) and that runs rather smooth. Now, the Fenix not unfortunately. Should the Fenix run smooth using High graphics settings or should I consider upgrading the video card?

Here is what the FCOM says:

TO AND LDG MEMOS

During the takeoff and landing phases, the right side of the memo area displays specific TO INHIBIT or LDG INHIBIT (magenta) memos.

To improve its operational efficacy, the computer inhibits some warnings and cautions for certain flight phases. It does so to avoid alerting the pilots unnecessarily at times when they have high workloads, such as during takeoff or landing. In these two phases, the DU displays magenta memos : “T.O. INHIBIT” (flight phases 3, 4, and 5), and “LDG INHIBIT” (flight phases 7 and 8). Note: These flight phases are different from and independent of the ones that the FMGC uses.

Sorry to quote an old post, Is it a case of installing the Navigraph HUB and go from there.

Also is this handy for creating flight plans for smaller aircraft like the 172 G1000 as well or is it only useful for airliners?
