A small service update to start 2026. This update is aimed at addressing several crash and stability issues, but as a small bonus includes support for BeyondATC’s ATIS, and an updated user guide.
Avionics and Systems
Fixed some crashes and improved stability
Added support for BeyondATC ATIS in the ATSU → AOC → ATIS menu
Fixed IVAO ATIS showing an empty page when only one ATIS line is provided by the controller
Fixed IVAO ATIS SEND button not working unless DEPARTURE or ARRIVAL is selected first
So I’ve heard so much about the Fenix it seems a no brainer purchase but before doing so I would like to get an idea of what performance I can expect. Can somebody give me a comparison between the Fenix and the default Microsoft A320neo. I’m just looking for FPS and MT latency under identical conditions when sitting at the same airport with the same graphics settings.
I understand that. But I would like to know what the performance impact will be should I purchase the Fenix. For example, I know how many FPS I get from the 320neo when sitting on a runway at Heathrow. I would like to know how many FPS I can expect with the Fenix under the same conditions and if someone can compare the two for me, I will have an idea.
I can go ahead and test that for you to get a benchmark between the two but understand that different aircraft might respond differently to different settings combinations or hardware - so just because you see XYZ difference between the two in my usage does not mean you’re guaranteed to see the same in your own usage.
Because you mentioned it, I just went ahead and spawned in each aircraft on the runway at Heathrow. I gave each one about 30 seconds after all downloading was complete to “settle” before snapping the screenshots.
So as you can see from this very-unscientific, single-data-point “test”, they’re pretty much identical in performance. Obviously many other factors will play into it, so it’s not something you’ll really have a feel for until you own the aircraft.
That is excellent and exactly the info I was looking for. Yes I understand the behavior may not be the same due to other factors but I was mainly concerned that there might be a much larger difference between the two. In my test of the A320 neo I was getting just around 60 FPS at Heathrow with my current settings and even if I were to get 10 FPS lower with the Fenix, I would have been happy with that but with your test I see the performance is much closer and I have nothing to worry about.
From your images it looks as though the Fenix is lighter on the CPU, but heavier on the GPU than the iniBuilds version, which makes sense. I guess if you have a low end GPU then the Fenix may run slower.
I just left it as-is in the default panel states. If I went down the rabbit hole of making them both equal after the fact I feel like I could have chased that down for a while. Like I said, very-unscientific
While the inibuilds A320 is an excellent add on and an awesome default aircraft experience, comparing it to the Fenix is like comparing little league baseball to major league baseball. There are so many more features to increase the immersiveness.
The biggest reason why I bought the Fenix is because I just like to jump in an aircraft sometimes and be flying right away. The Inibuilds A320 doesn’t let you put an ILS frequency in the NAV radio. With the Fenix, I can be flying in 5 minutes, I am able to put the ILS frequency in the NAV radio and be flying an IFR approach right away, without doing a full FMC route programming.
Plus the flight physics in the Fenix are a lot better. If you like Airbus, the Fenix is a must have and no brainer.
I’m not sure if they are “completely different league than everyone else in every aspect”, that’s a bit bold statement because there are many great addons out there, but surely they have a very loyal fanbase (also because they’re nice and down to earth guys).
Anyway @RogueNaught1 , if you want an awesome A319/320/321 package Fenix is your choice. Performance-wise they’ve been improving it over the years quite extensively and for me it’s one of the best performing airliners in the sim (MSFS2024).
Purchase of the Fenix A320 came with 4 versions: CFM, CFM SL, IAE, IAE SL.
When i download liveries with the Fenix installer, they are all available for the CFM version. But None are available for the other 3 versions, only the stock Fenix livery as originally delivered.
The liveries are specific to the aircraft models. It’s likely that all of the liveries you installed are CFM only. The Livery installer shows what model each one is for, as highlighted below.
