[A319, A320, A321] Fenix High-Fidelity Aircraft

I do get it though… the whole presentation, here we are, look what we’ve created…

A mention in the beginning would have been better.

And you’re right about the credit I suppose, although it’s hard to tell in the end. We don’t know how much was changed, or added.

You claim that FSLabs is not watching Fenix. Now you want proof that FSLabs is watching Fenix.

So I guess you want a fly cam on the wall that has recorded video of Lefteris, the head of FSLabs, reading the posts made by Fenix? LOLOLOLOLOLOL

So said they are watching them so show us where you have this proof

So prosim or not. I REALLY DO NOT CARE!. As long as it has good in-depth systems, looks good and very less bugs. Then i am gonna buy it!. As a end user that’s all i care about.

I may not agree, but I understand and respect your opinion. I’m curious, with the news of it using the Prosim, what’s your issue or gripe?. If you were considering it before, are you having second thoughts now and you aren’t convinced by the Prosim, or didn’t like that they didn’t mention this from the start?

I was getting it yes however that has changed. I fail to see why we were not told at the start,
sure prosim is a great thing for the aircraft dont get me wrong but to not tell us that in the amount of announcements we have had sorry but that puts me off.

So I use CPDLC with the inbuilds A310 on Vatsim. Whilst a lot of controllers accept it, you still have to talk often every flight. As an example, you can request your Clearance, but will/can be asked to call on the Frequency to request Taxi, or other things.

I am just saying it is not a given that all communication will go through CPDLC, so just be aware of that.

Some controllers wont accept it, and will message back, Call on 122.50 for example!

I hear you. Just some perspective from the other side, Prosim is a well known and established brand in the flight sim world. With that and licensing, you can imagine a lot of legalities come into play. Here’s a comment from Fenix, which pretty much explains it:

On the other hand, I can imagine if ProSim was mentioned, critics may have said that they are “piggybacking” on the Main feature of their aircraft for popularity, the systems, aka the ProSim A320, instead of their own Brand, Fenix.

All in all we are consumers, I’m not sure what a business decision should do with it, as our end Goal is to fly whatever they produce, not worry about the politics in the underlying code (that was legally obtained). If it stinks, by all means go after them, but as you rightly said, at the end of the day, the amazing thing for us is we have choices in what we want, and I agree that if you aren’t happy with something, definitely put your money where you want it to go.

Thank you,

I am fully aware what prosim is but thansk for explaining it i have been flightsiming since FS95 and have saw companys develope aircraft as well as beta test a wide range of aircraft for developers etc etc.

Sadly for this one at the preesnt time my wallet is shut

That’s entirely your right, but personally knowing the module is using ProSim as a base rather than all the systems being coded from scratch makes it far more likely I’ll buy it.

I’m hoping it’s a success so we can maybe see something similar done with the ProSim 737

Just for clarification, I’m not sure where you saw I was explaining what ProSim is, I just referenced the name. Anyway its your right, and Ill be glad to see FSLabs come into the MSFS space also.

dont get me wrong i will watch the fenix sim develop and IF it is as good as it is being promoted is i will buy it BUT it has to be worth it. They are a new developer so this is there first product so i am prepaired to give them a chance.

Why are people getting upset about Fenix using Pro Sim? Why? Why on earth do we want them to reinvent the wheel. Airbus logic is beyond complex, and to have all that in the MSFS is going to be amazing, to be honest and I am not going to debate it, but MSFS does not deserve this plane given the state it is in, but that’s a whole other debate!

Every game, game engine, software all has or uses off the shelf (I hate that expression as it sounds cheap) software. I HAVE (need that to be clear HAVE not currently) worked for defence contractors and companies that make and programme stuff that aid in the deployment and use of things that can do quite a lot over great distances very very precisely, with zero human intervention, I have worked on projects where detailed images needed to be manipulated on the fly in real time, over the internet…I could of allocated 300 or 3000 hours for the R&D guys to make it, or do what I did and Trial/Test/Prototype a $500 .Net C# plugin that had a proof of concept up in day, saved tons and tons of money and got the job done, exceeding all expectations, and earned us all a nice extra in our salary that month.

There is never any point in reinventing the wheel unless it you desire total control or custom stuff, not possible. An A320 is an A320 so why spend years doing it yourself when you can take the guts and make it for a platform. That is still a momentous task in itself, this is not just plug and play. All A320’s will more or less act the same, yes there maybe variations but ultimately its the same!

This is in no way cheapens the product, what this does it tells us that actual Airbus logic will be rock solid, and IMHO the bugs if any will be in the implementation which is far easier fix.

Some of the best and highly renowned X-Plane Buses are built like this…

I dont get the problem??

I respect your decision if your wallet is shut for this one. There are far many more who will gladly buy it, even more so now. So no perceivable loss to the business.

Contrary to its original intention, all this fiasco has achieved is just provide a good promotional material for Fenix.

Respect man!
It’s your wallet, and your opinion, and thank you for giving it. Absolutely we need all views, and they should ALL be fully appreciated and respected. Do I agree with your end assessment? Partly. Will I be buying this bird. Yes!
Do I have your back to defend your right to your opinion? You better believe it!

Deffo going to be an interesting time for flight sim next few months Fenix, Pmdg, Aerosoft, Quality wings etc etc

It’s certainly all coming together now.
I just hope that SU5 hasn’t put pause to some developers (thinking about the next big change - DX12). It’s been a ride so far!

Fenix have stated that they pretty much got away with any major hassles with SU5, but we saw a good few glitches with the DC6 and RS mentioned that the FPS gains they saw pre-SU5 going live magically disappeared on the day

Other aircraft that’s built more deeply with MSFS will no doubt cause their devs to sit up with an ‘oh oh’. Looking to the CRJ and the FBW for instance, and a few others I’ll bet.

Asobo will need to be more careful in future.

Asobo really need to double down on things, especially the Avionics, the sim is a mess in that area, You have WT stuff, PMS stuff, then NXI stuff… Some of these are fully working, some depend on others, some break others and none of them (default) are fully complete, there are other issues too.

I am not having a pop at WT or PMS, I am just saying it is all a bit messy and this is because the amazing WT, PMS are trying to fix the major short comings of the sim. No I am not suggesting Asobo develop RealityXp level 5/4-30’s but they should be trying to harmonise all these and that means talking to the dev’s who are fixing their work.

All this voting on Graphics etc needs to stop until the sim and the avionics are in good shape. This is my feeling.

As the simulation part comes from Prosim the Fenix A320 will now be an immediate buy for me. I hope that Fenix does a nice job visualizing the systems and creating a nice flight model.
