[A319, A320, A321] Fenix High-Fidelity Aircraft

people have different expectations…“very good” and “amazing” compared to the default aircraft, sure. But compared to offerings from FSlabs and PMDG, it leaves a lot to be desired. For a free community effort, it is amazing.

Indeed and it is driven by a community so it moves quite quickly.

If you have any problem their discord means instant support, something that is almost impossible to match for a small company.

If a new A320 payware is released it may be better than the FBW today but eventually the FBW team will add the same stuff and reach the same level or even better for free. So for me it doesn’t make any sense to pay for an A320 for MSFS in the same way I wouldn’t pay for a 737-800 for XP having the Zibo.

Yes I’ve tried it and the amount of effort put into is admirable, but it isn’t a good simulation of an A320.

Ok, I respect your opinion. In my opinion it is quite a good simulation of the A320neo but still has a lot of improvements needing. The mod gets reviewed by real A320 pilots and they think it is realistic, but it will manage to be an almost perfect simulation of the A320neo in the future.

There is a Concorde from DC Designs that’s coming after the F-14 is done. It will most likely be a simplified version - in their P3D product, the aircraft includes GPS navigation even though Concorde was an INS-navigated aircraft. The fuel transfer is also simplified, though you’d still have to transfer the fuel throughout the flight in order to maintain your desired CG and be able to climb to the altitude the Concorde operates in AND still have enough fuel to get to your destination. It’s wicked fun!

OMG

Sounds like we’re drowning in the A320’s soon.

That’s only fueling my hatred for the airplane… I feel like Barby when I’m flying that thing. Well okay, like Ken… let’s keep it real.

No more A320’s please! Give me the 380 then!

The problem with A32NX is its too easy to fly. The plane literally flies and lands itself. It gets old after a while.

Can be said of the real thing as well. No doubt a nice plane, but gets boring after a while.

do something abnormal to make it exciting…like fail one of the engines and try to land. otherwise any sim Airbus, even the FSLabs a320 becomes a snoozefest imo

I mean, that’s technically what a working Airbus A320 is supposed to do. You can always disconnect the automation and fly it like a 60-ton 152 if you prefer that experience. But in normal operations without ATC guidance, that’s pretty much what it’s meant to do. If you have ATC guidance and specific procedures, sure, there’s a lot more to be done, especially in the MCDU, but otherwise, it’s doing its job well.

Well that’s how an A320 works, auto-land is not commonly used irl unless in very special circumstances. I like the A320 alot but, there’s a lesson here, I’m not going to waste money in yet another A320.

+1 to what you said. Flying the A320 on Vatsim and busy airports is quite fun. I enjoy the Toliss A321 precisely for this. In the FBW A320NX the MCDU is -to me- still not reliable and depends too much on the base model, waypoints disappear, the flight plan gets tangled, ILS is not correctly set etc.

As a passenger, after all the not-so-nice-stuff Boeing pulled with their MAX, I would prefer an Airbus. Although I have no bad experiences as a passenger with the 777 or the 747. Still, if I had a choice… especially after seeing it in a sim. Seems like extremely safe airplanes.

But as a simmer, it’s really dull.

Well that’s not a bad idea actually. It would be nice though if there were some ‘mission’ scripts around, where the whole simulation is set up for your ‘emergency’. It’s all a bit weird, to lose an engine, but that’s about it. ATC doesn’t care. The firetrucks won’t be there. There’s no screaming in the cabin when you dive for the airport… FSX already had a bit of that stuff.

In what specific ways does it fall short?

Any idea’s from the community what this could be?

What can we say…
Looks like another addon to join the never ending stream in the Marketplace following the $$$ .

We shall see.
