Now we have 2 high quality airlines the next issue for me is to decide what to use
I like them both so much.
So far this Airbus looks absolute perfect. I have studied the cockpit from various angles in 2k videos and noticed no visual glitches, clipping errors, bad textures, hoovering objects or objects not placed seamless together, or anything else related to graphics bugs so far in the virtual cockpit.
The flight dynamics looks absolute real, she does not begin to fly on her own but rolls with nose upwards some time along the runway before taking-off (only the Aerosoft CRJ does this too and I love this realistic behaviour!).
YouTube videos with real pilots have shown that the numbers are correct (airspeed with various thrust settings, flaps speeds, stall speed, engine parameters on the EICAS or whatever the EICAS is called in an Airbus are correct…).
Legends say that even the fuel consumption is almost correct with only +/-6% divergence.
I just have little tight budget for a month or so that´s why I am not already posting a dozen Airbus screenshots every day ![]()
But this Airbus is a must-have, the most interesting and fascinating plane that even surpasses PMDG and PSS/Phoenix releases in visual quality. (How ironic - a Fenix surpasses a Phoenix.)
But maybe PMDG will come up with a 737 cockpit patch and fix these little visual flaws in the VC and add some razor-sharp HD textures
in this case it will be a nip-and-tuck race between Boeing and Airbus.
We will see if an A320 freight version will come some time later! (But I´m so happy that there is no freight version yet - otherwise it would almost be painful not having this bird in my hangar…)
I must say the cabin is also superior to pmdg. I wish i could use pilot view and move around in the cabin while flying in PMDG as well. But i really love them both.
Although I really love the A320 I do prefer the cockpit in the 737.
The A320 cockpit looks like it’s been used as a chicken coup for a couple of years. I’d like to think that Fenix will release a tidier version but I have my doubts.
That “pitch arrest” thing. If you mean what i think you mean, then if i understand correctly thats a real thing. The FSLabs does this as well. Its some safety feature i think (tailstrikes?)
Is this Fenix A320 better than the FSLabs A320, the Toliss A319/A321, and the Flight Factor A320?
How does this Fenix A320 rank among all the airliners in MSFS, XP, and P3D?
Funny thing is, there is a mod for the FBW that makes it look the same (even down to the exact messy green scratches left of the speed brake).
I also want to have this model, but still waiting for PayPal, not sure when will they activate this payment method by checkout process. Hopefully before PMDG 737-800 release, otherwise my pocket will be in empty before I could afford this sexy CEO!
I’ve spent hundreds of hours in the FBW and I’ve never even thought of “modding” it with a pigsty of a cockpit. Really like that original.
does fenix have more variants of the airbus planned?
I can only speak to the XP models you mentioned, I’ve owned the Toliss 319/321 and FF A320 since the time they came out in XP. The Fenix A320 is without doubt a step above them all! You get all the airbus MCDU and autopilot logic like you would with those models, and the hand flying feels great too. I’m no real Airbus pilot, but they feel similar with excellent FBW feel. The game changer is the EFB/Integration with Simbrief/Navigraph and extra duties of company messages that make you feel like you have actual passengers. Overall a more realistic experience in my opinion.
It is heavier on performance than some other aircraft, but I’ve tweaked items in the Fenix app and can now hold constant 30 fps on averaged High settings. I have a slightly older system i7-8700k with GTX1070ti and 32gb of ram to give you reference. I’m very happy with the purchase!
It doesnt, I tried that earlier and it loaded at the holdpoint engines running and flaps set but everything else was just blank and as default
Where is the Fenix A320 manual? I looked in the A320 folder in my community folder…but nothing. Checked the website couldn’t find it there either.
There are some FAQ style parts in the EFB but no tutorials, manual, training, missions etc
ok
Thank you
You can change these settings in real time per the quick start guide, it slightly lowers the resolution of the displays.
Nice! It sounds like this Fenix is not only better than the Toliss A319/A321, Flight Factor A320, and FSLabs A320, but this Fenix A320 could be the best airliner ever made for a home market flight simulator (ie. MSFS, XP, P3D). Business jets don’t count as airliners, so among airliners at least, I am getting the vibe that the Fenix A320 is the best airliner among MSFS, XP, and P3D.
This thing has been doing my head in all day, trying to get any sort of plan into the computer,. Ive watched one of the few videos ive found and he makes it look simple but i havent succeeded at all. Shame really, i am surprised at the lack of tutorials, seems a bit of a faux pas
The Fenix would certainly get my vote for that! I’ll never say any aircraft is perfect, but I’ve been nonstop flying it since yesterday evening and it’s a blast lol. One other statement in support of the Fenix is the communication has been great to me. They openly admitted to a very few minor shortcomings (like fuel burn being off around 6%) but already have plans for modeling custom engines. They communicated prior to and after release very well via their Discord.
Thought of this as well. However, it’s consistent through pitch angles as well as flaps settings (3/Full), aircraft weights, approach speeds and weather environments. Something’s seriously wrong here. I’ve even set the elevator sensitivity to almost linear in the control settings, and yet, half sidestick backpressure isn’t nearly enough to arrest the rate of descent. Guess imma open a support ticket on that one.
