Latest issue which has only started today (Basic A320 from Asobo, ) flights going fine a few minutes in climbing to Alt in Managed mode, and bam! airspeed indicator plunges to zero, plane dives with no input from me at all, and switches clicking?? ) switched off AP, regained control . moved to selected mode , this time just a minute before Bam! instant dive, Airspeed indicator off zero. and so on it goes.
I experienced this same problem after the previous patch a couple weeks ago. For me, it happened on climb and descent using the default A320neo with no mods. Basically, my airspeed would drop to 0 and my plane would enter an uncontrollable nosedive. The fix is to make sure you have the Wing and Probe/Window Anti Ice switches on. This prevents ice buildup on those surfaces and prevents blockage of the pitot tube (at least thatās what is being simulated). Every flight since I started switching those on, I have never encountered the issue again. I encourage you to try this and I hope it works!
Thanks, iāll give that a try and report back
My workaround and it works guys !
That was the issue, thanks for the help.
Glad to hear! Have fun!
Tried with your suggest work around but no luck here.
I found that the issue is more prevalent at some airports however this could just be the fact that it appears right now to be very random.
Example 5 flights in Germany so far have worked perfectly , however the 4 flights i tried from Melbourne (YMML) have failed to follow flight plans at all. And when the issue occurs Auto Pilot essential no longer responds not to navigation or heading changes.
A lot of bugs in this mod⦠In the middle of the flight starts to descent when it have to climb, then when he reach cruise altitud there is a bug on the speed, the it turns 0 during a few seconds and starts to descent
Mysterious sinking issues with my A320 as well as AP not following the flight plan or set heading (banks to the right for some reason)⦠This is really tiring. Donāt they test their stuff before releasing it to the public?
I feel like the 1.0 version of the release day worked way better than what we have now regarding airliners.
Thanks friend, your trick worked for me!!!
Flight plan to Seattle AP and it veers to the left and circles away the minute I reduce altitude. I am keeping the dead zones like you instruct because it canāt hurt but I am getting the feeling the bug is related to pressing inputs while AP is doing a flight plan.
For example, it is flying at 3k feet as per world map flught plan. When I press to reduce to 2k it goes out of control.
As others have mentioned, the fix for the broken autopilot is to set deadzones for your joystick. 10% for pitch, roll and yaw work for me, and donāt take much away from control ability.
This does not work. Even with deadzone of 50% and no input in the cruise and the AP will stay engaged but start a right hand bank once this happens there is no recovery, you can disconnect the ap and re arm nothing, you can set the aircraft to heading mode and it wont follow a heading. Its a bug its not an end user issue.
To triple check this I even did a flight with no joystick no controller just keyboard so there is no possible rouge inputs and sure enough 20 mins in right hand bank no flight path following and no way to restore navigation or heading guidance. The main issue here is its utterly random, the issue can crop up 3 mins into a flight, not at all or 2 hrs into a flight probably why people think its fixed until it randomly strikes again.
I appreciate we are all just trying to solve the issue but at this time from my testing none of these suggestions work, with on average 60% of my flights ending with the AP bugging out. The fact is if its a rouge input causing he issue that the deadzone would counter then why would you lose heading mode and why can you not recover the AP functions after the right hand bank happens ? to me at least its clearly a bug. And just for more info each and every time its a right hand bank that indicates its lost its mind
it never breaks and goes left always right in my testing.
Same trouble. A320 is deviating from flight plan and starts turning at Very Steep bank angles. Sometimes it started circling. And this is happening in any leg of the flight, be it climb, cruise or approach.
I had another issue A320 started to swing from left to right and vice-versa very very quickly, I had to stop the AP. It was like the aircraft tried to follow 2 directions at the same time.
I had the problem without any joystick plugged in too.
The A320 is quite the hit and miss. Two days ago I had a total power loss at takeoff.
However, yesterday I made a trip from EDLP to EKCH with almost no problems. The AP worked perfectly (and I have 0% deadzone) on my yoke. Live weather worked. And even when ATC assigned me an approach and runway for landing, I had no problems entering it and AP didnāt go back to the previous waypoint. ILS approach also worked.
The only problem I had was after having used the external view for a few minutes. When returning to the cockpit, all buttons on all the panels were gone, and there were two pilots sitting in the seats (the ones you are only supposed to see from the outside). Took a minute of changing camera views to get rid of them.
I already got the issue with 2 pilots and all buttons gone. This bug is here since the release ![]()
Fair enough. It seems you and others are experiencing issues way beyond what has been frustrating me. I was experiencing the drifting off to one side, and the AP modes automagically changing. Setting looser deadzones did fix both for me, so I guess weāre waiting on the devs to push out an update for you and othersāit doesnāt seem like anything the community can fix at this point.
