i have been struggling recently to set the correct STAR in the MCDU. Once i set the ILS and the STAR the “VIA” option is “forced” to be accepted. For some STARs the proposed via does not make sense at all. The problem is that i have not found a way to erase the via. Also by choosing “no via”, doesn’t work. it forces to take the option available. Is there a workaround to this issue?
Goto your destination icao-select arrival; when the star should be changed select another ILS approach and the ERASE. Look in the flightplan which ils connects to the STAR.
that what i am doing, however i only get one ILS runway as an option (ICAO SAWH), once i select the runway, i then select the STAR, all fine so far, then i get the option to choose a “via”, i don’t want to use the via that is being shown, i select “no via” and anyway the mcdu ends up including this in the flight plan.
it has happened to me also on other many airports, i cannot just select “no vias”…
Bumping this up as i’ve been having the same issues with the inability to delete waypoints in the STAR and avoiding VIAs and it drives me mad!
Looking at the Github link it appears this bug was recently updated with a tag of ‘fixed in cFPM’. Is there anyone familiar with that Github who understands exactly what that means? I sort of take it that there is a custom flight plan manager feature in development by the FBM team and this bug is fixed on that. But not sure when it’ll be released?
Same issue in SU10 beta. If I want to do a flight plan with no arrival vias, I have to enter each waypoint on it’s own. I know MCDU entry isn’t the preferred way to enter flight plans but I wish it would work a little better. Especially for those who can’t get FBW or Fenix versions of the 320
