A32NX fire extinguish button

Hey Guys I just have some itchy hands and pulled the button and discharge the extinguisher for one of the engine, in the center flight display I saw that engine now showing XX XX on the running detail which is to be expected if I put some extinguisher in that engine, but then in the actual sim or external view both engine still runs fine, is this a semi finished function or it’s a bug in the FBW A320?

I don’t think that’s implemented and will never be because there is no model for a burning engine.
On the other hand, you will never „kill“ a running jetengine with a discharged fire bottle because it will never has that volume to suffocate it.
If you have an engine fire, first of all you turn off the fuel for that engine and do a cut off. If it’s still burning, you will „fire“ the extinguisher.

You can’t kill a running engine with the extinguisher, because you can’t activate it without activating the fire pushbutton first, which (not only) shuts down the engine…at least IRL.

I haven’t checked lately, but AFAIR engine fire is a failure option in MSFS.

Actually that’s what I’ve done, activates the fire button and then discharge the extinguisher, I was wondering that the fire button didn’t really shuts off the engine

IRL the ENG FIRE pb (on the CEO)

  • silences the aural warning
  • arms the extinguishers
  • closes the low press fuel valve
  • closes the hydraulic fire shut off valve
  • closes the engine bleed valve
  • closes the pack control valve
  • cuts off FADEC power
  • Deactivates the IDG

On the default A320 all fire related buttons are inop which is pretty embarrassing given the fact that you can select engine fire in the failure menu :joy:
