A32NX FMC Confusion!

Greetings, I have been working on the FMC in the FBW A32NX. After I load the flight plan from SIMBRIEF for example, I can go into the FMC and tweek the plan to hit certain speed and altitude constraints upon the arrival. My question is "what should I select on the MCP to enable the FMC to follow those constraints? "
On the ALTITUDE knob, I have selected the UP position after I entered a lower altitude (10,000ft for example) Is this correct? Also, what position / setting should I have in regard to the throttle? I hope I made sense here, Thanks

The altitude knob does not have an up/down setting it has a push in/pull out setting. Are you pushing in or pulling out?

Pushing in the knob on the Airbus should have it climb and respect the constraints set in the FMC. At least with regards to altitude. With air speed constraints, I am not sure if that is modeled, but you will need to be in the climb detent.

I also suggest you watch one or more of the YouTube tutorial videos on how to fly the A3 20 as it’s somewhat complicated to explain here.

When I put the mouse over the knob, there is an UP ARROW and below the button is a DOWN ARROW. I select the up which I think may be the PUSH! Not sure

Up is push, down is pull – you have it correct.

I think you also must set the desired alt to below the last constraint. When you do, you should see a magenta altitude number show up on the main altitude ribbon/display (it should show the constraint that it is trying to hit).

OK, I think I may have deleted a F/P Discontinuity when I shouldn’t have as I was unable to make an altitude constraint due to the short distance. Something to look closer at when planning I guess. This is when doing an RNAV approach into Vegas.
