Long flight from EGLL to TBPB and the buttons disappeared for lke 5 hours but came back on approach
Not an issue with the aircraft, but rather Asobo’s shoddy QA.
This bug is in the game since launch.

It usually resolves itself after some time, as you stated.
Some claim that swapping internal/external views/toggle the ATC window a load of times might bring it back.
Totally Asobo’s “shoddy” QA making buttons disappear on a mod that piggybacks on the cockpit of another mod the authors of which (rightfully) don’t offer support or guarantee it’ll even work on this application. 
Asobo’s QA should absolutely test their updates with all the combinations of mods out there. Sure.

This happens on the stock A320 just as well. And in the 787, and in the 747.
It’s true I did have this issue in the 787 before. Hopefully it doesn’t happen too much again!
It certainly never happened to me, despite using all the aircraft on a regular basis. Here’s my suggestion, if someone asks a question, answer the question without turning it into a sneak chance to throw around a petty attack to the people working hard on this sim.

To begin with the FBW mod was included in the initial release. Second, it appears OP has more than one mod running.

Pretty sure this is not a MSFS bug that has been plaguing simmers since day one or there would be more than 1 thread with 8 posts 9 months later.

@SandaledGlue104, are you using any custom liveries? Have you tried this without any other mods running? Was it a one time thing for you or has it occurred before?

Yeah it’s only happened twice. Once in the 787 with an Oman air livery and once in the A330 with a Virgin livery
Don’t get me wrong, I’d like to help OP if there was a fix, but that’s Asobo’s job here. It’ll usually trigger on longer flights (3hr+ or so flights) so I can imagine either not many people see it, or have seen it and Zendesked it already.
