The Airbus A330 by IniBuilds that is part of MSFS 2024’s standard content still has multiple visual bugs. First and foremost; the engines. It would appear that the animations for the CF6 and Trent 700 somehow got swapped during development, because these two engines have opposing directions of rotation, and both are backwards in the sim, have been since day 1, and we’re now up to SU3 and this still somehow has not been noticed or corrected.
Onto the visual modeling, the modeling for the Trent 700 fan is generally rather poor, with the leading edges of the blades being visibly flat and the curvature of the blades being somewhat exaggerated compared to the real thing. The spinner spiral texture is also incorrect for a Rolls-Royce engine, it is a GE-style paint spiral and, ironically, is correct for the direction of rotation that is animated, however, I reiterate, the animation for engine rotation is incorrect. Screenshots along with a pictures of real Trent 700s for reference attached. I will also include pictures of the GE90 for spiral paint comparison.
Moving on, exhaust heat blur appears for BOTH engines when only one is running. This is a kind of visual/animation error I’d expect on an aircraft in an alpha or beta build of the simulator, but we’re 3 major updates in and this is still an issue. I should note that the Asobo 737-8 does NOT have this problem, heat blur animations appear correctly in respect to engine ignition, for each engine individually.
