A400M Refuses to move when spawned cold and dark

I believe this has been fixed upstream for a long time, the fix itself is really simple.

Issue seems to be with their ability to include the fix.

I do not know what their pipeline for including upstream fixes is, but the end result is demonstrably embarrassing, when a launch aircraft present in all the trailers still cannot even taxi from its stand over a year after release.

Thanks for the update.
I have Voted +1 in the hope that this long outstanding bug can be resolved as it does break immersion - in the mean time I shall try the mod called “iniBuilds A400M Chock Fix” on flightsim.to

It’s really easy to get around this issue without breaking the immersion too much.

Here’s how I do it:

After pushback, complete your checklists to the point where everything is ready for taxi, then when you realize the plane won’t move, click ‘ready for takeoff’ in the panel states. You won’t lose your route, performance calculations, or anything else important, it just switches on a few things which you can quickly return to their original state. As long as you truly were ready for taxi, clicking that panel state barely does anything, except now the plane is free from the ghost chock curse.

I’d imagine this has been mentioned dozens of times in this thread, but since I don’t have the patience to read it all, here it is just in case. Managed to get an extremely satisfying flight today despite all the numerous bugs in the aircraft.

Using the template below will greatly help the team reproduce the issue and ease the process of fixing it. Before posting, search for an existing report. If you are not sure it’s a bug, please first report in User Support Hub.

REPRODUCTION STEPS

In a cold and dark starup the aircraft is not “invisi-chocked.” The parking brakes are not releasing. The following experiments make the case. On the efis (if that’s the right name for it) display control panel press “Wheel.” At the bottom left of the info screen, you now have two vertical bars – brake pressure.

1. Spawn cold and dark on a parking space. Preflight, start engines – make ready to taxi.

a. After releasing parking brake, the pressure does not fall by more than 10%. Maxxing throttles makes aircraft squat but not move forward.

b. Reengaging brakes, the pressure goes up to what is was before – a tiny bit- and the aircraft lurches forward a little and stops – rinse and repeat all you want – brakes don’t release.

2. Leave engines idling after cold and dark startup

a. Go to panel states on inibuilds efb – press ready for takeoff

b. EFIS Brake pressure is nearly 100% as expected.Release parking brake

c. Brake pressure falls to 0% immediately. Aircraft rolls off

d. Reapply parking brake, pressure increases to near 100% plane stops. Release, taxi and reapply brakes all you want, pressure always falls to 0% and aircraft rolls

3. Leave engines idling after cold and dark startup

a. Turn off engine hydraulics.

b. Shortly brake pressure will dissipate to 0 and the aircraft will simply roll away by itself but

c. You have no brakes steering and flight controls. You have a rollerskate strapped to 4 powerful leaf blowers – enjoy

4. Turn on electrics only from cold and dark (maybe apu?)

a. Repeatedly release and apply parking brake, pressure eventually falls to 0%, Starting engines make it jump to 100% and it goes back to its bugged state

Well investigated  - lets hope they can fix it now.

It’s possibly worth noting that iniBuilds has been faking their chocks in the past and not really simulating them at all in any true functional sense. This was caught when people were unable to complete checks while the chocks were still in place, as having them on just meant that a stronger version of the parking brake was applied and the pressure indicator wouldn’t move no matter what.

While the report above is certainly very detailed and still interesting, whether you call it chocks or brakes is a tomayto tomahto distinction in many iniBuilds aircraft.

I spawned cold and dark this am, took the chocks off the front wheel before getting into cockpit. There were no chocks on back wheels. Loaded up gpu, went outside with EFB and there were still no chocks. Went back in and because it is only my 1st time i used CTRL and E to start after the pushback.
A little green strip popped up for about 1s at the top of the Coms box or EFB(cant rememberwhich) to say it confirmed chocks were gone.
I could then taxi to runway.

I wonder if there has been a fix already?
