AAU3 Aircraft and Avionics Update 3 - A310, A320neo, PC-6

I am guessing that the updates to the PC-6 was not done by Asobo, nevertheless it seems like they need to improve their quality assurance across the board based on recent releases.

Something is wrong. This AAU3 for Neo inibuilds is a complete disaster. The interior lights (flood) of the central panel do not work anymore. The aircraft strobe appears to be inside the cabin. TCAS is in ON (MODE C) and the message STDBY appears on the ECAN. On the first takeoff I made the initial turn was to the right. It flew to the left. Look, honestly it seems like a joke. ah Inibuilds…

Make sure you have ATC set to “on” on the left below the auto setting. I had the same issue until I realized this.

You’re right. It was set to Off. But does it have to be turned off like that? So there’s something else I must be doing wrong for Flood…

Flood lights on pedestal work if I start the plane from cold and dark and do not work if I start a flight from the RW with engines running (before this update there were no problem with those lights on my install). Reading lights behind the pilot work, flood lights on the panel do not light what they have to.
Taxi ribbon does not appear, push-back tug does not react if I call it via EFB.
MCDU does not download winds.

Slight crosswind pushes the plane on take-off from the RW to the side too heavily (I do not know if this is wrong or not - did not fly her IRL). ATC calls the plane as a “heavy” one with no reason. ATC does not allow to request IFR flight if I took off VFR (was able to do this before)

We have been calling for this for years.

It looks like this is just how it is going to be.

Hoping change will occur feels far worse than just relenting to acceptance.

Having the same issue here with the lights with the A20N v2

I’m so glad, I didn’t pre-order! Asobo’s default planes (includin FF’s & LL’s are not worth the money! (Only very few exceptions)! I don’t need hundreds of them spamming my hangar! Standard edition on day one with gamepass for me!

Unfortunately this hasn’t changed in years, Quality Assurance with all types of updates had needed serious attention but it appears they clearly have other ideas. It’s a shame because it’s so poor and obviously in need of restructuring, how are we the only ones to know this time and time again? I can’t imagine Jorg is proud to release update after update with continuous new issues because of a lack of in house Beta testing and quality assurance, it’s falling on deaf ears and I worry we’ll experience this still into MSFS24.

To be fair I haven’t tried the updated PC-6’s yet but the release notes are rather underwhelming.

QA is a culture rather than something that can be just switched on when needed. So I do worry a bit about MSFS 2024 when we see things like this happening,

That’s what I did to be honest. Partially also because I felt a bit “mislead” when Jorg, in the dev stream last week, said that Deluxe and Premium Deluxe airplanes will also be sold separately in 2024. I’ll just buy whatever I’m interested in from the D and PD packs - assuming they are of decent quality ofc.

I love the sim and can’t wait for 2024, but I rarely fly default planes anyway so, for me, this makes most sense. Quality over quantity any day!

That is sensible, but the outlay could be greater, depending on the cost of the individual planes. If they are $20 each, and you decide more than 3 are worthy, you’ll end up paying more than if you bought PD in the first place. I wonder when they’ll announce the plane pricing.

True. I should have been more specific and said that I’m on Game Pass currently, so I guess I’ll stick with that until 2024 is launched and then make the decision which to buy when we know more details about pricing etc.

I keep waffling over it.

I’m fortunate enough to be in a position financially where the price isn’t an issue.

I keep thinking about how much I love the sim and I’ve stuck to buying from the Marketplace to show my support and be a part of the revenue stream that shows Microsoft’s bean counters that this is a positive cash flow product. My desire is they continue to develop and support it in the future.

In that vein, I figure if I stick with the Aviator’s I’m helping fight the good fight regardless if I fly the included aircraft or not.

I guess I’m weird like that.

I’m in the same boat, but I try to not spend money on stuff I don’t need (easier said than done…). I never bought 2020 as I have Game Pass, so I’ve actually paid quite a lot for MSFS Standard Edition (360+ USD and counting…) since that basically is the only game I use it for. Figured I’ll cancel it now and buy 2024, but I shall wait until it’s released before pulling the trigger.

Believe it or not, but I’ve also been thinking along those lines. Good to know I’m not alone!

Question: Does the FPLN in Neo V2 work when created on the World Map, like V1?

If not, nothing in that changelog matters.

That’s an … interesting train of thought. I guess bug fixing and overall improvements of an aircraft should be postponed if it doesn’t have the one feature you want right?
