Is it intended that, as an aviator edition owner, you still have to claim the free “FOKKER F.VII” on the Marketplace to get the latest version?
My library just shows the 2020 version (v1.2.1) - but as “FOKKER FVII” - note the missing dot between F and V.
I would have expected to get that updated version automatically - regardless of AAU4 not having been released now. The “FOKKER F.VII” even says “Upgraded” in the Marketplace, assuming “it” should now about the older version. Even though I can imagine the Marketplace not having been designed to handle this exact situation.
I had to claim the free upgrade in 2024. Don’t know about 2020.
Surprisingly, you are wrong. The aircraft is now free for everyone, whether you previously owned it or not. That’s a bummer for those that did already purchase it. I was not a previous owner, so I feel like I lucked out.

Still no joy. No release date. They’re working on the ATR and a few other AC.

Yes, so I discovered - but it is only free for 1 week - still I wonder what freebie they will give Aviator ed holders to make up for the bummer were enduring

They owe you at least a beer. Those tend to fix my bummers.

It’ll take away the ache for sure LOL
After all, they only had several years to work on it. But they had to deal with tons of other stuff beforehand. Quantity over quality.

Well, I stand corrected. I thought it was a “make good” gesture to compensate for the surprise delay of AAU4.
Happy for anyone who got the plane for free, it’s a nice gesture.
It’s there any idea of what happened for the other 4 aircafts to not be ready? Or there’s any glance of how much delay we can expect?
Hey @AdriaDavid
I don’t have any other information at this time I’m sorry to say. As soon as we’re able to share more news on AAU4, I can assure you we’ll do so at the earliest opportunity!
Cheers

You can get it free too for the first week of release
I’ve been following all the chats occurring over the past days. All quite interesting, but I have been frustrated with the Avidyne 550/540 in the 1 aircraft presently available to some of us - the C172 “Classic”.
Frankly, based on this experience, I would not be seeking anymore retrofits to existing aircraft.
I want to like the Avidyne and its more modern touch screen and other options, but in some instances, for example RNAV approaches, I have much better luck with the old Garmin units. ILS approaches do not seem to be a problem. But I can’t seem to get the Avidyne system to intercept the recommended FAF altitudes at all in RNAV.
Have any of you been able to perform reliable, consistent RNAV approaches under the autopilot’s control of both lateral AND descent flight paths?
