AAU4 Release time?

Folks, let’s try to keep this topic focused.

If you have specific feedback on any one of the four updated individual aircraft that you now own and have in your Library, please post them in one of these feedback topics:
[MSFS2024] Antonov An-2
[msfs2024] atr 42-600 / 72-600
[MSFS2024] Latécoère 631
[MSFS2024] Savoia-Marchetti S.55

Bugs that you have discovered when flying one of the four updated aircraft should be reported in the Bug Reporting Hub > Aircraft & Systems category.

Thanks!

Progress maybe. Reloading the sim I got a 700-800mb add-on update file installed. All updated aircraft show as “owned” in the Marketplace. Selecting the aircraft for free flight no longer presents the modal about needing updated content. I can spawn in with the aircraft and even complete preliminary walk around checks like normal. However, loading into the aircraft exhibits issues. The ATR 72 and 42 show a WASM orange crash screen on all screens with:

WASM module crashed

Package: microsoft-aircraft-atr

Module: /SimObjects/Airplanes/Microsoft_ATR/attachments/Microsoft/Function_Interior/panel/MSATR.wasm

Gauge: EFB/CDS1/CDS2 etc

Wanted to share in case the details are helpful to anyone.

Steam edition/PC. I own the ATR but no update shown for it. I did see the update for the An-2.

Did you disable the 2020 versions?

Morning PS5 Update

The S.55 & AN-2 are now showing as Owned without me having to do anything
Therefore, I have 3 of the 4. The ATR appears to have been removed completely as no longer showing even as rent or buy. I have scrolled all through my list and it’s definitely not anywhere listed as Owned either.

Could we have a changelog for AAU4 please.

Just wanted to follow up here from last Friday. Any updates on the ATR on PS5? Happy to document as a bug or move my follow ups to the ATR thread if needed. Thanks!

Hello @DriestKnight746,

Per our announcement thread, the ATR is not currently available on PS5, but it’s coming soon for that platform.

Additionally, there is a PS5-specific issue with three of the other four aircraft in AAU_
04. The below planes show up as available for purchase for SimVerse Coins on PS5 for people who own the Aviator Edition instead of showing the new version available at no charge.

  • Antonov An-2
  • Fokker F.VII
  • Savoia-Marchetti S.55/S55x

We are aware of this issue and are working to resolve it as quickly as possible. In the meantime, we encourage all PS5 players who have the Aviator Edition to not re-buy these planes. The Latécoère 631 is not affected by this issue and is available as expected for PS5 players with the Aviator Edition.

Thanks,
MSFS Team

Seedy, are the bugs in these going to be fixed - see ATR bug reports of which there appear to be many - esp since they were supposed to be the updated and fixed aircraft?

It would be really appreciated if we could have an answer as to whether there will be updates to the faults found. Particularly if the ATR will land up in Career mode.

I assume they will be treated like every other sim or add-on - it comes out with bugs, and is improved over time through updates with the help of community-reported bugs on this forum.

I don’t think anyone thought AAU4 meant they would release perfect bug-free aircraft, especially since such a thing doesn’t exist.

And yes, it has already been officially confirmed that the ATR will receive Career compatibility in a future update.

Hello @Pilotfirst9999,

As always, we are reading all the feedback about these aircraft and logging bug reports in our internal system when appropriate.

Thanks,
MSFS Team

When is the ATR going to be career mode ready?
Are we talking so far out we dont have a date yet?
The communication has been poor. You say it’s going to be career mode ready and its not, so then we need to ask again is this a bug has it been unintentional or an intentionally not ready?
We asked about the Fokker you went to the devs…this was months ago. Did they say anything did we all forget?

I feel like you’ve been around long enough to know that having a date isn’t really part of the deal here - the remaining aircraft for AAU4 dropped with absolutely no warning to anyone. As far as I understand it, it was known that it was not Career ready at launch, so not a bug per se.

You would think that a multi-week delay would result in a more polished aircraft upon release though, no? If not, what was the reason for the delay? The state the aircraft must have been in for the release to be delayed in the first place is a scary thought.

This continues to be a matter of Microsoft not holding 3rd party partners accountable and instead relying on “passion”. Unfortunately Asobo gets the brunt of the angry backlash and becomes an undeserving scapegoat, but the state of these 3rd party releases really isn’t their fault.

I mean, if they wanted to release them all simultaneously, there’s no evidence that the “hold up” was even related to the ATR. One could also make the point of “If you think it’s bad now, you should have seen it a month ago.”

of course you are right, but you what this feels like to me? it feels as if this was pretty much the state at the time of su5, so they held the release (the right move) then they realized that proper polishing would take too long or forever, so they released it kinda as it was… under the table, with no warning and no change notes (for now)… they keep doing the same thing over and over again (i believe with no ill intentions) taking on projects, and later realizing they don’t have the manpower, so they drop it as it is and call it close enough

if they don’t change that policy (at mgt level) this will continue to happen forever
