Ability to delete logbook entries

It really is a shame that no one thought about making the log book editable. I bought the premium deluxe version so that I could have the choice of having the most amount of aircraft possible. Having spent nearly $130 on this, kinda makes me mad and wish I would have just stuck with FSX. I mean the game and graphics are amazing on my computer, but when you spend that much on a game, you should be able to do anything and everything with it. Including being able to edit the logbook. My logbook is a total disaster right now. If your going to build a game from scratch, make it right the first time before releasing it.

The log book in its current form is virtually worthless (no pun intended). I am struggling to understand why editing in any form is not possible, as this should be relatively simple programming. Please at least give us the ability to delete the questionable or invalid entries created when testing settings or when good landings are not recorded correctly etc. I understand there may be reasons why you don’t want users to add or edit logged flights, but the ability to delete entries should have been there from the get-go and there is no practical reason for not allowing it.

I searched and didn’t find any entries for this request.

I do a lot of development and have accrued a TON of 0 time logbook entries as I go in and just check out scenery and textures and the like. Could we please have a command to delete 0 flight time logbook entries. These can also get created if you select ā€œContinueā€ instead of ā€œReturn to Mainā€ when you’ve finished a flight and want to have a look around where you are at.

This would be helpful considering how many short benchmarks, tests, and troubleshooting events are logged alongside flights.

Not to mention CTDs that result in a takeoff but no landing…

Yes totally agree we need the ability to delete the rogue log book entries …voted

Agree.

And not to mention all these 0 minutes logbook entries due to when I click ā€œcontinueā€ when the auto end flight windows shows up and I have not yet secured the aircraft properly or even not turned off the batteries …

I don’t get any entry after a CTD. If the game crashed on end flight, no record of the previous hours airport hopping. It also only records my first take off, plenty smaller airstrips don’t record landings either.

So it has recorded 75% of my landings and only 16% of my takeoffs. The logged time is also far behind my actual flying time including all test flights.

The only use it has is seeing what planes I haven’t tried yet by process of elimination. However you can’t sort by plane so that’s currently not possible either. (Way too many entries)

You can search by plane, so you only see the entries associated with a plane, but it doesn’t total hours by what you search for; I posted another wishlist item for that one.

MSFS does not continuously write to its databases, it only writes to them on exit from the flight or the program, so if you CTD, yes, it won’t record anything.

But the recording of takeoffs and landings is completely broken anyway, that has nothing to do with CTD’s. Even if you didn’t CTD, it wouldn’t be getting your takeoffs and landings correct, either.

It would be good if you could delete your flights in the logbook or switch off the recording entirely. :+1:

I hate that every time I enter the cockpit just to check if a change I made to controller setting is working, it gets entered in my logbook even though I didn’t take-off and never even started the engine. It would be great to be able to delete these non-flights from my log book just to declutter it.

I stepped away from the game shortly after launch for these types of issues and pop back in every so often to check if the logbook is fixed.

I honestly CANNOT believe this has not been addressed yet. If you are unable to fix the broken logging, at least allow us to delete entries.

This needs to be addressed. Seriously.

Honestly I’d rather they not spend time adding these features and instead release the format of the logbook file and/or give us an api for it so we can use it to not only add delete/edit functionality but to build completely independent addons/plugins that can access and use the data.

Hi, everybody … I am following this topic as well. To my knowledge there is no feature or option to reset your profile on MSF2020 nor to edit flight logbook. I tried to remove / uninstall the game but everything came back eventually including my 60 something crashes at the take off with Spitfire IX. (Do not recommend this addon. You want to fly WWII planes join IL2) MSF2020 is great - I love it but it is massive surprise nobody is even attempting to address and resolve this long standing issue with profile / logbook. Over a year and counting …

Can we please have an Option to delete Flights from the Logbook?
I think it would be good for example for Flights that we not finished so we can delete these flights from it.

Thank you

Or all the times when I spawn at and airport only for testing, but the logbook puts in an entry if I never even turn on the the battery master.

Yeah this would be good as I never knew about the dev mode option when I was doing flying under and through structures tests etc. A clean start to my career would be cool.

After a year we still don’t have a simple delete function for our logbook - that is really sad. But I found a way for me to deal with. If I had started a fly or just a simple test on the ground, that I don’t want to log I just turn on dev mode at the end and quit the flight and it is not logged! That’s fine as a workaround for me, if there wheren’t so many old logs…
