First of all, good luck. When the game first came out, I went to GameStop and told them I wanted the best version of the game I could get. I knew nothing about the price differences between the packages so they charged me, I left with the code.
I get home and install the game. I didn’t get to actually play the game for like a week or two though because of the whole Flight Stick shortage and people charging $600 plus for a $200 setup. Once I finally got my flight stick, I went to go play the game and realized two of the planes I wanted were not available for me to fly.
I contacted everyone. Put in tickets with Xbox, who the code was through. Their Zendesk, and I kept calling Game Stop customer support trying to resolve it. Xbox would not help, said the problem was in Game Stop’s court as they were the ones to handled the original purchase. Asoba support would not help and told me I had to pay for the entire game again and the package I wanted. Gamestop would not help either as they didn’t have any kind of ‘upgrade option’. So they pretty much confirmed what Asoba was saying, I would have to buy the base game and the upgrade all over again.
It took me calling and ■■■■■■■■ for two weeks before the local GameStop I bought it from finally just allowed me to purchase the game at the difference from what I already paid. That in itself took me calling GameStop support for the 15th time and the lady being tired of being on the phone with me so we three way called the local store and she authorized them to sell me the Premium Deluxe or whatever the hell they called it for the difference from what I already paid.
Eventually Asoba finally responded. They don’t allow you to upgrade. If you buy the standard package they expect you to buy the WHOLE thing at the standard cost if you wish to upgrade. Which is by far the dumbest thing I have ever heard of with a game. They were not even willing to help so luckily GameStop resolved it for me.
I wish you the best of luck. But I doubt you will get the results you want. It took me a month of calling EVERYONE to get everything settled.
