Adapter For Monitor Plug?

Went by a yard sale today and paid $1 USD for an older 19" monitor to use with MSFS (moving map or whatever). I have attached a picture of the plug on the monitor cable. Is there an adapter that I can purchase in order to use this monitor with my “modern” computer? If anyone knows of such a gadget could you let me know? And, a place to order it would also be appreciated. Thanks a lot!

Depends on what connector you have on your GPU. Whichever it is, you will need a female VGA to whatever connector type is on your GPU (HDMI, DVI, Display Port, etc.). Look at Newegg or Amazon for VGA adapters.

That’s a VGA cable.
Search for vga adapter to whatever you have, probably hdmi.

You may be better off recycling that 1 dollar monitor and looking for a 10 dollar hdmi😄

Hmmm, have not seen one of those in over 10 years. Old desktop about 3 YO had both HJDMI and VGA, but it was POC desktop. Both Laptops only had HDMI, and now they will have Display Port and HDMI to cover both formats. The specification changes all the time, cannot remember but think DP is up to 1.4 and not sure about HDMI one. They make adapters, but, it may not (PC) have the correct voltages to support something that old, you can try it, but inexpensive monitors for what you want can be had for maybe 100 dollars or so, and those would have the correct cabling and port selections.

I am an idiot. I don’t know why I said RGB when I knew ■■■■ well it was VGA. Sorry if I confused you.

VGA is analog, HDMI is digital.
