You must be using a diferent Open Street Map, cos there are plenty of farm buildings that I just checked are showing as just ‘building’ and some are showing as no building at all. Maybe Ordnance Survey data is better.
Like I said though, many farm building don’t go through the planning permission phase as they’re temporary structures.
