I got upgraded to the MSFS 2024 version of the Yak-18T for free last week (owned the MSFS 2020 marketplace version) and found out it supports career mode, although only ferry missions and Iāve seen them in the mission list.
The Hiller was also marked in the marketplace as supporting career mode but that got removed, donāt know why Thereās a logged bug in the forum about no missions appearing for that chopper, it could have been that.
To be fair I totally get your pain, but for starters I switched to the Xbox Series X from the Series S and the game in general does not crash nearly as much if at all most often⦠after a few updates the latest version of MSFS 24 (Version 1.3.23, I believe, at the time of this post, 5/5/25) on the Xbox works a lot better especially in career mode. The Max airliner works a lot better and does not crash much at all! It still might crash when doing a long haul flight like 13+ hour flight but even the 10+, and 12+ hour long hauls seem to work perfectly fine still at this point.
I will admit that at the start even in December/January was rocky especially on the Series S but it should be a lot better now. And the Series X is a lot better in general I am just assuming that the Series S unfortunately is just at the boarder line of where the system requirements to play the game are at.
Long story short though it should work a lot better than previously at this point and rumors have it as well as my own personal testing that SU 2 Update which is coming VERY soon should make the Xbox Series S and X a LOT better
This doesnāt align with my experience. my Xbox X canāt even handle the Los Angeles-San Fransisco flight in the Max. Iāve just given up at this point.
I have zero Issues up to the 9,5h (In-game mission estimate) missions in the MAX 8.
Although I got 1000/1000mbit fiber and DNS set up plus Xbox series X
I donāt know if this is the best place to post this request but here it goes:
This post/thread is actually a request to add the (existing) DHC-6 fixed-wing aircraft and the Bell 407 helicopter. Obviously these arenāt the only FS2024 aircraft that arenāt present in the Career Mode and there are many others which I would also like to see there as well (DC-3 would be an example) but I feel that these two are the most useful to have available in the Career compared to the rest of FS2024 aircraft that arenāt also available in Career Mode.
Regarding the DHC-6, it can be used for Search and Rescue missions (like in real life), for any Cargo missions (Light or Medium) and for basically all Passenger transport missions.
It could also be used for Medevac missions.
Finally, the DHC-6 is also extensively used worldwide in Skydive aviation and therefore it could be used in the same mission during the FS2024 Career mode.
Again, if we look at the FS2024 list of aircraft and their real life counterparts, the DHC-6 is definitely one of the most versatile aircraft that currently exists in FS2024 when again, compared to their real life counterparts.
Regarding the Bell 407, this is IMO the most interesting of all helicopters specially among the lighter ones and it would be a fine and the best (when it comes to FS2024 helicopters) alternative to the Airbus H125 (a helicopter whose Trim system I really HATE but here I digress).
Resuming, the Bell 407 would greatly improve the Helicopter part of the Career Mode as some helicopter missions can only and currently be played with the H125 and again, the Bell 407 would be a fine/best alternative.
Please add the C-46, DC-3, DC-6, and any other applicable add-on aircraft to career mode. These are still used to this day for cargo missions in real life, and it would be awesome to have that option in career mode in the sim.
Iām currently trying to choose my first medium cargo plane in career mode. The trouble is that thereās really only one viable choice - the PC-12. This is because other medium planes are simply not assigned many (if any) missions.
I would prefer to buy the cessna 404, but missions for it on the map are incredibly rare. The same is true for the caravan. The Britten Norman Islander is even worse, with zero missions on the map at all. The PC-12, meanwhile, has dozens of missions available. Right now I have most of Europe, a chunk of the western USA, and lots of Japan visible, so I have a variety of locations to check.
Seems to me that missions are created specifically for an aircraft, rather than for an aircraft category. I think it would make more sense for any medium cargo plane to be able to accept any medium cargo mission. I would recommend the same for all other mission categories.
This isnāt just about allowing more airplanes to career mode in general, this is about rectifying the missions to allow more of the existing career mode aircraft. I fully agree.
A note - I posted my comment above as a new post, not a reply to this thread. I donāt agree that my post should be a reply to this thread, as it is a different issue. I am not arguing for a greater variety of planes in career mode. Rather, Iām arguing that the planes that currently exist in career mode should be given access to all missions in their own category.
For cargo I need a Boeing 737 300, and metroliner, for vip I need CRJ 200, erj 135, beech 1900D, and for passengers I need a E195 E2, 757 200, Saab 2000, and 737 max
Not just in career mode but those aircraft can help with a more realistic Alaskan style free flight, southern Texas free flight and European free flight
