There was no mention in Jorg’s keynote presentation at FSExpo this year of any update to FSR in SU6, but that does not preclude it from being included in a later SU, as 3.1 was not available at launch, but was introduced in SU2.
I hope they don’t drag this for too long…
I have faith MS/Asobo knows what’s going on and eventually does the right thing. They probably didn’t have this as a huge priority compared to all the other things to address in 2024. They likely have a plan for FSR 4 and it might get nudged up the list especially now with the 7000 and 6000 series getting the latest FSR. I went with AMD because it consistently overperformed NVIDIA in the few benchmarks that were out there for 2024. EG - a 9070 was giving 5080 performance in pure raster. You can use Optiscaler to enable FSR 4 and it is great with a few tweaks, noteably on the secondaryscaling option in usercfg.
As per SU6 release notes:
Continuing the discussion from Release Notes - SU6 Beta 1.8.5.0 - July 6, 2026:
Wow, that’s awesome! And you can use Frame Generation with Vsync now which heavily improves framepacing.
Now If only FSR FG would be upgraded to the newest Standard we would have the füll package.
Thanks you Asobo
Does this update not also bring FSR FG? I was under the impression it was both upscaling and frame gen.
In a rare case these days our wish became true! At least mine took 2 weeks for Asobo! Great job! Thank you very much! Waiting for SU6 with latest FSR!
I installed the SU6 Beta version and tried FSR4. I am not sure if it is a bug or simply because it is a beta version, but it seems the Adrenalin driver is not recognizing it properly yet. In the global graphics performance settings, upscaling initially appeared to support FSR4 correctly, but later an exclamation mark appeared along with a message indicating that it is not supported. Additionally, since the in-game setting for frame generation is only set to FSR3.1, it seems it is not supported yet. I understand that FSR4 frame generation is automatically supported in FSR3.1.4 or higher, but since it is set to only FSR3.1, I cannot verify if it is actually FSR3.1.4. Since “Redstone” is completed only when FSR4 upscaling and frame generation work together, I request that you update SU6 to include frame generation as well.
It’s the same for me with a 9070 XT and the Xbox Store version (not Steam). Adrenaline reports an issue, yet it runs fine in MSFS.
AMD and Asobo really need to fine-tune things so that the info matches up between Adrenaline and the MSFS settings.
As for Frame Gen showing version 3.1, I think that’s just an incorrect label and that FG 4 is actually active.
Finish the job, please.
