Just wondering, I am about to go down the freeware add-on rabbit hole and amd concerned about future conflicts with upcoming updates.. But it sounds like MS is kicking all the non default stuff out of the folders when it is installing ?
Then the ardous task of reinstalling all the addons ? This could be a frequent task if MSFS updates every month right ?
All addons in my Community folder were still there after the update. They are not being removed by the installer.
As for issues with addons after an update, that is absolutely possible if code in MSFS has been changed that the addon depends upon. This is a very common issue where some addons need to be updated after the base sim is updated. Check with the addon developer.
Maybe, Just maybe, the Add On, Freeware etc. community should have a completely separate folder here in the forums. All these add-on Ads are going to get out of hand one day.
Some of us plan to keep the MSFS clear of external issues until this flight sim gets really stable.
A separate folder would make it so much easier for those Add-On entertainers to keep track of all the things they have task their flight sim to accomplish.
I agree it would be a good idea…
For me its pretty stable some graphics glitches and offcourse fps drops around citites and the normal performance issues but other than that it installed and updated without any issues… I am sort of with you on that train of thought, though but that might take awhile..
