Thats also messed up, when navigating using NDBs you need the ability to temporarily park the ADF needle at the 3 ‘o clock position to check needle response since there is no NAV warning flag. ANT / ADF is an essential function!
Can’t remember when I Iast used ADF in real life, must be 3/4 years ago. On the Jetstream 32 we actually flew to some airports with only ADF or Locator approaches, also we weren’t approved to fly RNAV approaches with the Bendix King KLN-90
