Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) is a rapidly-emerging, new sector of the aerospace industry which aims to safely and efficiently integrate highly automated aircraft into the National Airspace System.
AAM is not a single technology, but rather a collection of new and emerging technologies being applied to the aviation transportation system, particularly in new aircraft types. Notional AAM use-cases include Urban Air Mobility (UAM), Regional Air Mobility (RAM), public services, large cargo delivery, and private or recreational vehicles.
I attended an airport planning session of the Tampa Aviation Authority, and one of the topics was future expansion of KTPA to provide facilities for AAM as it evolves.
If I was a young man I would invest in the technology companies at the forefront of this exciting new direction in aviation.
