Aeroplane Heaven DC-3 for MSFS

…unless it is sold for 50 dollars and more.

Most of the flight sim community wouldn’t know if the “Flight Model” was accurate and developers know this. If people don’t know what a real DC-3 feels like why does it matter? so long as it’s in the ballpark.

Flying a sim plane on a PC or console, no matter how accurate does not feel like the real thing anyway, it’s impossible…this is true of all simulators that we have at home.

I understand the obsessions with systems, buttons and switches and the need for good looks is obvious but commenting on the flight model seems like pure speculation/guesswork…the vast majority will not know the difference anyway.

That aside:
Like others on here I’ll wait for the reviews before I decide to buy, I’d do that with most things I buy anyway…but…to make a yes or no decision now based on pure speculation about something that doesn’t matter that much anyway seems a little premature.

Give me an example of this “Stupidity”…link please.

Like the vast majority of MSFS users I don’t have the time to follow the community very closely.

I don’t have the inclination to search them out for you. You can look up the fallout from their Lockheed Electra release, the YouTube comment responses on their channel regarding that aircraft, and the initial wording accompanying the first “postponement” of the Spitfire release. Additionally, you can read their response in the thread above to a DC-3 rated pilot to their offer of testing the aircraft and seeing if anything can be improved.

If those aren’t pure and unadulterated PR stupidity, I don’t quite know what is. It’s self-sabotage and the results are quite clear in a bunch of responses that followed the post documenting their rejection of a DC-3 rated pilot for testing.

If you are interested in the subject further, you are welcome to do some legwork and read about it.

Any add-on dev that refuses the input of type rated pilot says a lot! Even if they want to go down this experince route, thats fine. But even without getting into systems, its worth taking up a Pilot just to make sure the “Flying Experince” is on the numbers with regards to the flight model and the feel.

Oh well, no buy for me, cant be bothered anymore, the old excuse’s wear thin, Wings42 showed what is possible and for an astoundlingly amazing price. I am not going pay $40-$50 for an Experince, when I paid $20 and got everything, or $60 for the DC6 which is far more complex and also got everything.

That is NOT what I said. I never called anyone “stupid” nor did I attack them personally. Read my post again. I am not engaging in this with you further. Goodnight.

why not use that boeing, it is very much indepth.
or the dc-6 .
i never get it why people need some specific aircraft to enjoy a sim.

He never called anyone stupid as person, he said the companies approach to PR and how they sell their products is stupid, and he is right.

I rarley if ever refund products, but their Electra I had too, it was at the stage I had it, Garbage and lazy! and I suspect not much has changed. Any dev that worries about what people say to the point they do need to grow up, and also maybe listen.

No judging on the DC3 as it is not out, but turning down a type rated pilot who WOULD add a lot to the project even at this late stage is beyond suprising, and short sighted. Even if they added the pilots feedback in a patch at a later date (Doubtful, given they dont add needed fixes at a later date) but even if they took this route it would make the product so much more appealing.

Becuase just like people like a specific food or food cooked a certian way to be able to enjoy it. I love Gran Tourisimo 7, but if it only had 400 sub 200BHP cars it would not be as enjoyable.

Yeah, in terms of the DC-3 itself, it can come out and be a BEAUTIFUL product. I am not judging it this far and I am not willing to say I won’t buy it. I am just saying they are doing a good job of bumming people out with the way they are approaching this… and yes, turning him down was not a wise move. Any way I can slice it, it just doesn’t make any sense to do that. But hey… it’s their product. If it comes out and is like their Electra? Well… I will have a decent idea why.

What an odd statement from AH. Even if their goal with the DC-3 is not full system fidelity, a pilot rated in the airplane would know better than most about the overall experience — the sights, sounds, and sensations that make a sim airplane feel alive.

Better stick with the DC-6 then. I loathe developers without interest in systems depth. It’s a shame MSFS is considered a casual game and we have to deal with all these developers without any ambition or integrity.

Excellent point! :+1:

Oh, I know exactly what to take from that reply: it means that they don’t care to do the best job they can. I mean, it’s only one of the most iconic and important aircraft in history… why do it justice as much as possible?

the amount of moaning about a model that has not even been published is unbelievable..

Yeah, but so are the sub-par top-priced releases so far…

It does not sit on your mantle peice and look pretty! its not a model, its an add-on, that will have a flight model, that sadly could of been improved by a real pilot who fly’s the plane in real life. Judging by their response, they have zero real pilot involvemnet in it, but will expect $50 for it…Then will never fix it! just like SOME of their previous products!

Moaning is more than justified here based on the information we have!

That being the case, perhaps someday, like in FSX, there will be multiple offerings of this classic aircraft for us to select from? I think the SDK so far has slowed down some great developers, I.E. A2A, but eventually with time the kinks will get ironed out and we will hopefully see more developers jumping into this amazing sim.

now that is also a very limited view, there is room for both casual flight as well as deep.
just as in fsx. this game would not exist without casual flight possible.

no it is not, i consider it bad behaviour, but then gamers…
