So that would make 3? We have the Microprose one, I think it was Flying Irons that teased one, but I think I heard not too long ago they put it on hold until they see how the Microprose one does? and now potential for an AH one? hm…
The C-47 was from AH I believe. At least they are referenced in the paint kit. MAAM’s R-4D (Navy version of the C-47) does have a livery that someone did over at flightsim.io . I have a livery of that airplane that I did for MSFS 2024 and will post it if I ever figure out how to build liveries in the SDK.
I don’t know who did the B-25. Would love to do a “Briefing Time” livery if AH releases a paint kit.
You are correct, Flying Iron has paused theirs. MicroProse is making progress on their G model - the next 2 patches will give us a good idea of how much they are “getting there”. AH is teasing the F model which would be great to have. MicroProse says they also hope to do the F model and a different B-25 from the J model as part of their Heritage Valor Collection.
I am certainly keeping my eyes on these birds. I have slowed my 2020 purchases to a trickle at this point and have been Soley focusing on 2024 versions. But its an exciting time!
Has this been posted publicly anywhere?
It’s sad when you see lower-quality devs such as AH and now Microprose with the B-17 cause much higher quality addons to be suspended or cancelled.
They discussed it on their Discord. I would not lump MicroProse into the same boat as AH. MP has been, and continues to be, very open about their development. Their passion is evident. AH shows neither of that. MP is an unknown quantity in MSFS, sure, but let them get their B-17 to version 1.0 before we judge their abilities.
I absolutely love Flying Iron’s work, but after what, 3+ years, they had very little to show for their B-17. They are perhaps stretched too thin trying to care for their current catalogue and develop multiple new projects at the same time. And that was before FS24 came along with its, let’s say “challenging”, release that threw a huge wrench in the plans of the entire community honestly. I think that had far more to do with FI suspending work on their B-17, though of course MP’s Fort has to factor into that.
I see there have been some developments with the AH B-25 including new images that look pretty good. Seeing how this is the thread for it I find it interesting to see so many off-topic posts in here related to a B-17 from a different developer.
I look forward to the AH offering
I think Aeroplane Heaven did a great job with the Avro Lancaster and it is sold at a bargain price. I look forward to their B-25.
In journalism, they say ‘you’re only as good as your last story.’
Similarly, and in my opinion, AH did a truly excellent job with the Lancaster. I’m looking forward to the B-25 based on what they did with the Lancaster. I had a query with the Lancaster in its early days which they were very receptive to. High hopes for the B-25.
Looks like they have become a bit more adept and I’m wondering if they have different sub-teams for different products.
AH historically has been a buggy mess and has produced aircraft with a cartoony look (overly glossy as well as over-color-saturated textures), and I see a trend away from that with this and with the Lancaster. I also know that when they were more direct facing with their customers on the old Sim Outhouse forums that they didn’t always respond to criticism and bug reports in a cordial manner.
Can still tell it’s AH but there seems to be a greater effort - and this is coming from the same house who did that horrendous Boeing 707. If it’s like the Lancaster, it may be decent.
Too bad. Would prefer the B model
Having flown in one of the finest B25s out there on a couple of occasions and having shared the pattern with her and her special little friend, I am certainly going to buy the B-25 when it is released. I hope it does come with “In the Mood” paint scheme, otherwise I would have to get back into painting. Then I need to get the P47 to work as an AI and I can recreate a living L67, as it was back in “ the good old days” ![]()
AH is getting better with each new release and I don’t feel it to be wishful thinking that some day they may be regarded as equal, or at least close to, the likes of Flyingiron or Blackbird (MilViz). I bet their Mitchell will be very much worth the money.
here is an update on the B25-J progress

For those who may be unaware, ‘bazzar’ is the shot caller at AH so that’s the pertinent post in the link
Surprised they’re saying maybe before Christmas. I don’t know AH to hit release windows with any degree of accuracy but we’ll see. I think they saw with the Lanc that giving greater effort towards attention to detail pays dividends vs whatever they did with releases like the 707.
I think that could be attributed to Microsoft add-ons they hired Aeroplane Heaven to develop (such as the 707) compared to Aeroplane Heaven’s own releases.
I am fan of the Lancaster and look forward to the B-25. I do think they’d be best to hold back the B-25 for the best sound package possible then getting it out and patching that in later but that’s just my opinion.
Based on the Lancaster, I’m looking forward to this.
I think a lot of people have been very happy with Echo 19’s work in general. So, getting an even better soundset later would be gravy. The thing that excites me is, in already planning on updating the soundset, it means they realize how important accurate, really awesome soundsets are to their customers. Watching Stearman’s P-47 I think it was video the other day really blew me away how good it sounds.
Especially on a B25 the sounds are incredibly important. I don’t know of any aircraft that has such a distinctive sound combination between props and exhaust. Especially the short stacked versions were incredible.
I never heard a L-649 or L-749 with the short stacked R3350 but I have had multiple occasions of three or four B25s at and over L67. Two of them were the short stacked variants. That is definitely … let’s say adult entertainment ![]()
My thought was given how critical people have been of Aeroplane Heaven sounds in the past it makes more sense to me to release the plane with the best possible sounds right off the bat, even if that means a delay.
I’ve held off on their fighter offerings but I may have to check out the P-47 again.
