Loving this plane!
I really like this aircraft and have been working on an RCAF livery. It was actually a B-25D with no upper turret but I just wanted an RCAF B-25. I find the textures are quite hard to figure out and wish AH would put out a paint kit with an all bare aluminum texture set to start with. I am just a complete amateur livery painter but still trying my best, This B-25 was stationed at the Air Armament School in Trenton ,Ontario in the 1950s.
Though off topic, it shouldnāt go without note that without their sponsorship Europe would be without an active flying B-25. (Or a DC-6 or P-38 or the worlds only flying Sycamore either)
There is a flying B-25 in the Netherlands actually: https://www.airhistory.net/aircraft-name/83/Sarinah-Plesiran-Neer-De-2C-s
That might be so, but sponsorships can work without ruining the thing that the company is sponsoring. Put up posters around the parked aircraft at airshows or something.
Itās one thing to plaster that stuff all over racing cars or athleteās outfits, itās a whole other story to smear it on historical artifacts. For me thatās the equivalent of etching oneās initials into the Colisseum.
I am aware thankyou, āSarinahā is one of my favourite aeroplanes it having visited the UK many times number in the past. The aircraft was made airworthy again after a change of ownership to the Dutch civilian register a few years back however it hasnāt exactly been very active over the last few years in attending airshows or events. As far as Iām aware, they wanted to keep the aircraft a lot closer to home to reduce operating cost.
Comparing that to the Red Bull example, which is displayed frequently and widely across Europe. Surely thanks to Red Bulls continued sponsorship.
I wonāt hijack the thread with a detour about this so my last point - if you take their P-38, paint that in a historical scheme would still be wildy inaccurate because of the numinous and varied changes that were made to the aircraft during its air racing career. Their B-25 also carries a large amount of post modifications meaning it still wouldnāt resemble the aircraft which rolled off the factory floor, correct livery, sponsorship or not.
For me, without Red Bulls sponsorship the European airshow scene would be a lot worse off. But this thread really isnāt about this! So Iāll leave it there.
they appropriate those iconic aircraft and use their implied valor to promote their questionable productsā¦
Iād suggest contacting AHās support directly and letting them know you want a paint kit. They reached out to Jankees over on S-O a few days ago to ask what heād want in a painktkit, so this would be a great time to let them know what you would fine helpful.
Also, that RCAF B-25 looks awesome!
Thanks very much for your suggestion and comment. I really do struggle when doing liveries as I am basically self taught with help from artists like jocko417 and others. I had to use the paint texture with the comp layer superimposed just to find all the little parts like the wing roots and tips. I am sure Jankees is much better at finding things than I am with all his experience. Here is a couple more shots near Trenton. I like to paint aircraft tail numbers my father flew at at the Air Armament School, in Trenton, Ontario. Still working on this livery.
According to AHās Facebook the B25 will release tonight March 5th on the 2020 marketplace ![]()
Iām working on more paints. Aliene, if you need any help, just ask!

Sorry, but for me itās a typical AH releaseā¦
- Startup procedure weird/non-existent - propellers start to turn only after hitting the primer switch
- Clipping of rudder pedals in cockpit
- Startup sounds and shutdown sounds mostly missing
- Instant cutout of engines and sound when leaning a tad bit too far
- Recognition lights visible from the top of the right wing at night
Thatās stuff that should be in a beta but not in a release version. I hope
The olive/bare aluminium ones are sexy as hell!
I just want to thank JanKees for helping me out after I reached out to him. I am still working on my RCAF B-25 livery as a result of some recent trouble locating various areas in the textures. I am also experiencing the forward fuselage gun pods showing up on my livery in all pink. If I put the nopods entry into the cfg. the livery wonāt load. If I remove the no pods entry my livery shows but it has the extra gun pods. JanKees provided me with some really helpful information regarding locating difficult areas in the textures and I just wanted to thank him in the forum. I am just posting this in case anyone else is having trouble with liveries. Just a note that adding the Newpods texture made the gun pods show correctly.
All of the liveries that have recently been released by JanKees are really nice and I canāt thank him enough for all he does for the community.
Thanks again
Iām sure I am not alone when I say Jankeeās liveries have certainly helped persuade me to pick-up some add-onās I otherwise wouldnāt have. Looking forward to seeing the completed RCAF livery!
Collings Foundationās āTondelayoā is based on a real WW2 aircraft. The real Tondelayo was a B-25D. Quite a story associated with the plane.

Has anyone noticed that the fuel labels for the Doolittle variant are mislabeled on the EFB and donāt correctly correlate with the in-aircraft fuel gauges?
