Aerosoft crj. How many complete flights

I wonder how many of you are completely trouble free flying the crj ?
It’s a great aircraft. I personally really enjoy learning to master it’s realistic systems and would spend more time with it if I could be sure to finish a flight. Consequently there are times when I don’t want to waste all the preparation if it’s going to freeze up during my descent and rob me of the joy of a perfect landing. I will do a perfect landing one day.
I have had a few 2 to 3 hour flights without any freeze up but for me it seems a bit of a lottery .
So I wonder how common my experience is.

Many. No issues here.

Me too, many.

But only one or two ILS approach without any trouble. The rest of the approaches I do manually.

Many, prolly at least a hundred flights on and off vatsim, no crash or freeze ever. But having the autopilot capture LOC and GS is often a hit or miss. I don’t have problems doing that with other aircraft, but on the CRJ it is more black magic than science for me. I usually don’t have problems with ILS when I follow a MSFS generated flight plan, but on VATSIM when I often have to change approaches last minute or get vectored in, I have at most a 50% success rate, the rest of the time I have to follow the ILS in manually…

For me no problem AR all. I have done app. 50+ flights, ILS, Rnav etc without any problem and landing with low rates. It took me several flights to learn but now it’s a Favorit plan together with the A20NX for me

49 flights

Same. Many flights with no problem. Plane is wonderful to fly once you understand it.

At least 100+ complete flights with no issues.

Your experience sounds quite rare, I’ve never not completed a flight in many since launch day.

Would recommend heading to the Aerosoft forums and hopefully someone can help diagnose!

No issues I lost count already it’s a much better experience over the fbw a3nx

Thanks for all the replies it’s great to hear your positive feedback.
Helps to put these things into context.

No problems here either. Best aircraft to fly in MSFS imo.

Sorry but I fly the CRJ almost every day, it’s my pure moment of relaxation during evening.
No problem at all. Sometimes a little quirk here and there but nothing bad really, and nothing that breaks the flight. CRJ for liners, Jabiru for GA, the best choices for me right now in MSFS. Can’t fly anything else, and making me very demanding for add-ons that will come in the future.

Same here. Many flights by now, usually daily, all in VR.

As someone wrote in this thread: getting inside the CRJ cockpit after work has become my Zen moment of the day…

Hey. Can you elaborate on this please ?

I ve re-flown same route 3 times, same STAR and ILS approach. CRJ acted exactly the same, meaning in my case. that it made some kind of shortcut on last vector. Hopefully my illustration make it up for my english.

I can only confirm this: the flight path calculations of the CRJ’s FMC are sometimes far from ideal! To get around this, I often switch from NAV to HDG mode during approach. With other words: I kind of vector myself into position for final.

Once I‘m established on final I switch Nav Source to LOC and AP back to NAV and let the AP capture the localizer. When the green diamond starts moving down, I switch to APP for GS capture. At that point I am usually fully configured for landing, at a speed of Vref + 10 or 15 knots. At 1.000 ft RA I disengage the AP and hand fly the rest, making sure speed is at or slightly above Vref when crossing the runway threshold.

This works every single time and I’m quite satisfied with my landings lately…

Quite often the CRJ will miss a waypoint out after you enter the STAR. Best to double check and add any waypoint missing.

Missing waypoint is a real thing with the CRJ at the moment, and that’s what I’ve said by mentionning some quirks here and there… But it’s not as bad as the problem that OP is describing. CRJ are made for short flight anyway, and need some kind of work and attention. Like ReimFarn I adapt my flight depending on the situation. And it always end well for me. So it’s ok I think for the first real complex plane in MSFS.
And also the plane is not demanding at all on my computer, smooth as silk. So it’s a winner for me.

I had some issues with speed mode (now solved) and it frequently falls below the ILS glideslope (no big problem) but I‘ve never had freezes or CDTs. I‘ve completed around 20 flights in the CRJ.

Finished about 50 flights in the CRJ. Encountered a few bugs here and there, but all of them are on Aerosofts radar or have been fixed with the first update.

Took a few flights to get the hang of it, but I really love that plane now
