Aerosoft CRJ Series

Had you pressed Escape to pause by any chance? I know the spoilers are linked to a bug with using the escape key, but I have now found that on unpausing (from escape menu) the wheel brakes are locked on, I have to push them again to free them off (using MFG’s for ref)

It’s as though MSFS applies the value from a random axis of one of the connected controllers and applies it to every virtual axis, including your toe-brake axis in this case. :frowning:

I purchase CRJ 550-700 within msfs shop and followed manual Vol3_Tutorial.pdf from aerosoft webpage but I have some issues:

On the test flight I received that a discrepancy was given with the type that was in the MSFS store:

  • “Press fire detection monitor test switch for 2 seconds” => No sound, no message
  • “NAV Switch ON” => I don’t see any reaction from one of my external consoles. Outside inspection shows that position lights are not lightning.
  • Activation via my console works
  • APU does not start (external POWER is connected and active

After 2h I give up . Flight test without “dark and cold”:

  • CRJ_550-700 those not handle my Logictech autopilot multipanel corectly
  • At the Throttle Quadrant I defined a switch for the parking brake => the CRJ 550-700 do not notice that and there is a conflict
  • because it was late and I lost a lot of time, I did a time jump for landing => I was in the air with a dark-n-cold machine …!
I have no such problems with other types of aircraft and they are even free. I love FlyByWire A320neo, realy!

Those anybode have any solution for this?

I purchased the CRJ 550-700 a few days ago and am having problems engaging the autopilot. When I click the AP button, it does not light up and I get get a red “AP” light on the PFD. I have been going through the tutorial manual and watching “The Dude” videos (excellent by the way), following everything step by step, but still run into the same problem each time I fly. Have others encountered this problem? Or if so, does anyone have a solution?

Are your Yaw Dampers enabled?

I am not sure, although on my last flight I followed the video precisely. I assume that they should be on?

Yes. I recommend doing the Tutorial Flight in Vol 3 of the manual. You will do much better. If you don’t know these things, you NEED the tutorial Flight.

I actually did so. And I was working my way through the videos I mentioned. Still not sure that the problem relates to the yaw dampers, but I will make sure I have it right the next flight.

Also I believe without the Flight Director you cannot engage the AP? (not sure but you could check)

Yes, you have to have FD active, YD armed, as well as the Mach trim. The tutorial flight has you do all of that.

Yeah, if my hardware is having calibration issues, it is a waste of money, absolutely.

Bingo! Engaging the yaw dampers and flight directors solved the problem of engaging the autopilot. Thanks to all for the help. I think that the shear enormity of the flight manuals got to me!

Maybe have a look at the checklists on the EFB.

They should be of great use in prompting the memory.

Even tho the initiating checks I rarely do  Certainly not going out in the cold and check the lights, or the fuse panel, or even the hydraulics page

Hello,

Someone who has a ryzen 5 2600, 16 GB and a RX580 has bought the Aerosoft CRJ?.. if so, do you have a good performance??

I would like to buy the plane but Im afraid that my computer its not so good to handle the bird with good performance

I have the FBW A320 and works great in my computer but maybe the new aerosoft crj its to much for my sistem??.. I dont know  Im afraid to pay and to have a plane imposible to fly with my sistem specifications.

What do you think?

But still no ILS…

My ‘guess’ would be if the FBW runs well you will have no problems at all with the CRJ. In my opinion it’s the best performing aircraft of its level I’ve experienced.

The CRJ runs very very smooth, much better than the FBW on my machine. Its seems to be lighter because of the well optimized code. I can fly above Manhattan New York and have zero stutters. I recommend to set your graphics on medium, its much smoother and no loss of details.

On my last few flight the AP often didn‘t follow the flight plan in NAV mode when I activated it, as if NAV mode wasn’t engaged. It‘s not a big issue because deactivating and reactivating NAV mode solves the problem, but I was still wondering if anybody else is experiencing this or if it‘s me doing something wrong.

As long as Aerosoft have the decency to reply…3 days in …still no reply…so far, all I have received is an auto generated response acknowledging my email…
Must admit MS have a far better customer response…(so far anyway)…but they had no option but to buck pass the problem onto Aerosoft.
