Aerosoft CRJ with 2024

Don’t touch the terrain button, engage Wx radar or fiddle with the tablet too much.

Hopefully some fixes soon.

Very good, everything seems to be working with SU4 :crossed_fingers:

I can’t get it to work with SU 4 either. No tablet functionality. No left engine.

Works beautifully here. Out of curiosity, have you tried with the default liveries?

Just flew the CRJ on Sunday with The Pilot Club, used a standard livery. Other than some pains getting the engines started, and having to reenter my flightplan and FMS data a second time, after it cleared….

I had no other issues with it. Every seems to be working fine, although I did hand-fly the ILS to final, so not certain if that works or not…

Very good tutorial here. This fellow is a vatsim controller, so he knows his stuff.

A few times when I fire up this aircraft, I cannot set chocks or GPU (parking brake is set). I’m sure it’s gotta be some sort of simple fix that has somehow eluded me. Does anyone else have this issue or know what the fix is?

At the CRJ launch, the shocks are in place, I believe. All you have to do is connect the GPU.

That’s what I usually do, but often it loads where I cannot click the GPU, chocks or doors in the EFB. Must be some sort of WASM issue. I wish there was something I could do without restarting MSFS.

While not entirely certain, try going to C:\Users\XXX\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024\WASM\MSFS2024\ if you have a folder specific to the CRJ to clear the cache.

Have you tried reinstalling the CRJ ?

Are your doors closed before you remove your wheel chocks?

If you click on “remove chocks” before removing the GPU, you won’t be able to remove it.
You need to disconnect the GPU and then remove the chocks.

You do have the latest version of CRJ, which should be 2.1.10? That’s the version on PC at least.

Thanks Kobboy. Will try these suggestions in the next few days.

Maybe I have found a possible cause. Back when the CRJ v2 was released by Aerosoft, it took a ridiculous amount of time for Asobo to update it on the marketplace where I purchased it. I couldn’t wait to try it so I repurchased from Aerosoft. SO it seems I am using the Asobo version which is under MS2020 in my library.

In order for me to actually use the Aersoft version, should I disable the CRJ under MS2020? I’m not sure how would get MS2024 to use the Aerosoft version…

I bought the CRJ from the SimMarket website when it was released.

To install version 2, SimMarket required installing the Aerosoft software and downloading V2 from within that software.

I was able to install version 2 on MSFS2024 from the Aerosoft software without any problems, but only on PC.

I don’t know how to perform this update on Xbox.

I found this information: https://helpdesk.aerosoft.com/hc/en-gb/articles/26328267646877-How-to-download-and-claim-the-free-Aerosoft-CRJ-V2-Update
But it’s 9 months old.

The AI gives me this:

Here’s the short version: On Xbox, you don’t manually update the Aerosoft CRJ v2 for MSFS 2024. Updates install automatically through the Microsoft Flight Simulator Content Manager or the Marketplace. You just need to trigger the update check in the right place.

Below is the full step‑by‑step guide so you can be sure it’s actually updated.

:white_check_mark: How to Update the CRJ v2 in MSFS 2024 on Xbox

1. Start Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024

Let the sim load to the main menu.

2. Open the Content Manager

  • Go to Profile

  • Select Content Manager

This is where all aircraft and scenery updates appear on Xbox.

3. Search for “CRJ”

Use the search bar and type CRJ.

You should see:

  • Aerosoft CRJ 550/700/900/1000 – Version 2

If an update is available, it will show as:

  • “Update Available”

  • Or appear in the Not Installed / Updates filter.

4. Install the Update

Highlight the CRJ package → press A → choose Update.

The download will begin immediately.

5. If You Don’t See the Update

Try these steps:

:counterclockwise_arrows_button: Force a Marketplace Refresh

  1. Go to Marketplace

  2. Press Y (Refresh)

:broom: Clear Rolling Cache (optional but helps)

  • Settings → General Options → Data → Rolling Cache → Delete / Recreate

:repeat_button: Restart the Sim

Fully quit MSFS (don’t just suspend it), then relaunch.

:shopping_cart: Check “Owned” in Marketplace

  • Marketplace → Full Catalog → Filter → Owned
Make sure the CRJ shows as owned and installed.

:red_exclamation_mark: Important Notes for Xbox Users

  • You cannot download updates directly from Aerosoft; Xbox only updates through the Marketplace.

  • CRJ v2 is a free upgrade for existing owners according to Aerosoft’s announcements.

  • All four variants (550/700/900/1000) are now included in one package.

I have the exact same issue atm! I have tried to clear WASM, reinstall, you name it… I cannot set chocks, and hence not open doors/set GPU etc. After takeoff (by using APU to power aicraft, and disregard doors), I could then suddenly not activate the autopilot?

To activate the autopilot the following requirements need to be fulfilled:
• All flight control computers (FCC) are operative
• At least one channel of horizontal trim is available
• At least one yaw damper is engaged
• At least one IRS system is available
• At least one air data computer (ADC) is available
• No significant instability of the aircraft

Once you’ve started the CRJ engines, you can shut down the APU. Power is supplied by the engines.

The APU can remain on during takeoff under certain circumstances, but I’m not 100% certain.

  1. Difficult performance conditions or weather
Extreme heat (hot & high): the engines need all their power for takeoff.
→ We shut down the bleed air from the engines and let the APU supply air conditioning/pressurization.

    Result: more thrust available.

Short runway or maximum load: same logic, we want to maximize thrust.

  1. Engine anti-ice required
When icing conditions require engine anti-ice, it consumes bleed air and reduces available thrust.

→ The APU can supply bleed air to the cabin, avoiding penalizing the engines.

  2. Reliability / Redundancy
Some airlines require the APU to be powered on for takeoff in the event of:
A MEL (Minimum Equipment List) reducing electrical or pneumatic redundancy.
    An engine generator failure.
Doubt about the availability of a battery pack (air conditioning).
→ The APU then serves as a backup electrical or pneumatic power source.

  3. Takeoff with Battery Packs Off
Some procedures (particularly on Boeing aircraft) call for battery packs to be switched off during takeoff to maximize thrust.
→ The APU remains powered on to allow for rapid battery pack reactivation after takeoff.

Normally you have the different versions of the CRJ 700, 900, and 1000.
Do you have the same problems with the different versions?

I’ve only tried the 900 variant, I can try the others too! But as a vivid CRJ user in 2020, I can tell itsa clearly some sort of bug/fault, not something meant to happen.

Yes, I also think it’s a bug.

On my PC, I’ve been having an issue for the past few days with the CRJ700 on MSFS 2024 that I didn’t have before on 2020 and 2024.
When I start the engines, engine #2 starts, but I can’t start engine #1. When I turn off engine #2, I can start engine #1, but not engine #2.
I’ve tried to figure out why, but nothing works.

Is the CRJ native in 2024 now? or is it not officially compatible? could be why maybe…?

It’s listed as compatible with MSFS 2024 on the Aerosoft website. I didn’t have these problems with MSFS 2024 until a few days ago. I’ve had this issue three times in a row. I haven’t tried it again since.
