Aerosoft Twin Otter baby!

I’ve said this before…

The quality (high and not so high) 3rd party aircraft are remarkably good value for money IMO. Especially when you consider the cost of leisure/entertainment in life generally.

If I was still a “yoof” and I went on a night out with the Lads I would spend more than the price of the Twotter. I anticipate the Twotter will provide hundreds of hours entertainment…Healthy entertainment if compaired to a Lads night out.

Bring it on.

It was in Lukla in 1988… Can’t wait to try it again in few days

You can tell, as its not yet been paved. :+1:

Something to whet the appetite:
Spoiler: When you engage the starter, the panel light dims.

In the review videos, it looks as if there are no windows or gauge glass. This is disappointing

You mean no glass cockpits?

I read somewhere (could have been this very thread) that the 400 will come later. That one will give us the glass cockpits.

Steam gauges don’t bother me, but I wasn’t sure if that’s what the guy I was responding to was saying.

No. there is no glass reflection on steam gauges. And there is no window reflection

they have confirmed that this is not the case, there will not be a 400 model.

Oh, that’s a bit of a shame. Thanks.

This is the best video I’ve seen recently. There is another much longer one on the same channel.

Mod edit:
A kneeboard with countless real photos of the Twin Otter including turbine cut! Fancy. Thanks for the video. Is there probably an extra 1000 pages POH PDF with at least 80 pages of aircraft technician study-worthy treat on the turbine?

Is it wrong to use it with conventionally mounted throttles or should they be mounted overhead to have the true experience? I’m halfway serious and joking.

Some have indeed mounted their throttles overhead but I fly other types and prefer a more conventional location.

You can also use a 6 points harness and flip your seat upside down !
:joy:

I’d suggest a Rube Goldberg-ian contraption that transfers the movement of a pair of overhead throttle arms to a traditional base-mounted throttle via a series of pullies and levers and small mechanical devices. Bonus points if one or more small mammals are required as well.

Bonus points if they are actually highly trained Otter technicians.

The Kneeboard is a seperate MOD. But what you see is the Manual (WIP) of the Twin Otter Aerosoft Product.
