Aerosoft Twin Otter baby!

I’ve owned the CRJ since launch and because of the state they left it in I’m also no longer a customer. I wanted the twotters badly but seeing how they released it I waited for reviews and can say I’m glad I skipped it. This dev is on my don’t buy from ever again list.

I almost bought PANC from ORBX but then saw the Aerosoft title above it. I took it out of my cart, no thanks!

Fills me with confidence for the A330

PANC is not an Aerosoft Development, Aerosoft is just a Publisher as ORBX and others. The airport is developed by SimWings…

PANC is a fantastic airport. Can recommend it without any reservations.

Maybe we should start a list of which developers do put out regular updates

This decision makes me wondering if I can trust on AS with other products.

Try the CRJ or read the AS forum on it.
The answer is a solid … NO

Hyping / marketing … no fixing because they move to the next cash cow

Will never buy any product anymore

They way they have reacted to criticism after the Twotter came out shows that they have no regard for their customers. Aerosoft used to be one of the best in the business, but for the time being they are dead to me until something changes dramatically.

This will probably get flagged but I agree and I would begin with Mr. MK and the entire AS forum moderation team, and don’t let the door hit you. The treatment of their customers is infamous, their forums are a ghost town because of that and yet nothing has happened, nothing has changed. Only bragging about huge sales of their products (so there’s nothing to fix or improve) but that was also happening before the fall of Rome.

Someone here said their aircraft addons have potential and that’s very true. For example the CRJ, a visually awesome aircraft but abandoned with annoying bugs that have been “put on a list” long time ago. And the same goes with Twotter and that’s why I’m not going to buy anything from them anymore unless they change their attitude.

The customer is King.

And you can see the downfall of being associated with Aerosoft. I avoided a product they didn’t make because their names on it. I’ll still pass.

Yup. And essentially every topic is stopped short of any details with a response of their admin team saying, “Seeing how this topic has been answered, this thread is now closed. Please feel free to submit another etc etc”

Yeah. No thanks.

Well if they want people to speculate we, flight simmers, are experts at the matter.
If you ask me what would you win pulling a product out of the market I would have 3 possible explanations:

  1. Improve your reputation if the product is not of the quality you want it to be.
  2. Avoid people buying it when a new product will replace it soon and you are not giving a discount to existing customers.
  3. Getting less money.

I think we can quickly discard #1 as there is not much reputation left to lose.
#2 would be totally out of character and they have already said they don’t plan to update it soon.

So we are left with #3 so my speculation is that somebody had some percentage of the twotter sales and that person is no longer a friend of the management so they pulled the product to cut his portion of the cake.

When you eliminate the impossible whatever remains must be the truth.

Except they mentioned (on the German forum IIRC) that it will be re-released in a new form, so probably #2. They want to make us pay for it again, and probably also try and avoid more support requests for the original.

Breaking news: The Twin Otter has been pulled from the shelves in an entirely selfless act from a gold plated reputable company known as Aerosucks. The great news is that it is going to eventually be reinstated as part of a brand new reality expansion package based in Hell. We have all heard of the concept that we design our own hell, based on worst fears etc. This concept is landed immaculately in this case. The main features of ‘Twin Otter Hell REP’ are, confused/unrepresentative sound quality, flight model based on paper airplane exercise (done as an afterthought), remarkably passive aggressive support forums and graphics design where things are shiny that shouldn’t be, and vice versa. I am really ‘super stoked’ for this release, and the icing on the cake is that anyone who has done bad things in this life, will get a copy for free

Well, I said the speculation would flourish. And so it has. Anyone want to top the HELL mod?

Haha, that made me laugh.

Well… As we’re left to utter and complete speculation for now, I did find something interesting.

Using the waybackmachine, on april 15th 2022 the Aerosoft website displayed this under the Company/ About Us tab:

and

Yet today, we find this:

…Based on the comparison of this data. Some people, or someone, have seen a change of job titles…

I feel like adding… I don’t know what this is really adding actually but mentioning this to the context:

The Twotter is still and always has been doing very well in my Top Aircraft charts. I mean it’s still in position 10 now after a year and it climbed back up after the eventual sound update, but even so it never dropped below position 15 or so I think.

So it’s a popular plane, even when it wasn’t in “great shape”, and remains so to be in the Top 10 of all the amazing choices we have these days.

If they do some kind of re-release and expect all those buyers to buy it again to get the benefit of ongoing updates (if any) or new features (if any) that is going to cause a whirlwind of disgruntled customers.

Again it’s speculation but without any clear communication what are we left with?
