Maybe some are actually being held like they are suposed to be to be approved by their devs first. Many add ons that step didn’t happen with and they appeared and were enabled without approval.
So I repeated an Aerosoft Twotter flight in 2024 and no visible thermals line induced this time so I’m going with I accidentally induced those via a spurious keybind.
It does fly ok, but one annoyance is that not sure what to call it - the unique “flaps whine” sound, which in fs2024 just goes off repeatedly on loop during a flight even with the flaps retracted. It gets wearing after a while. A bug I think and quite offputting after a while.
It’s the hydraulic pump topping off
Right thanks. Is there any reason you can think why it would play on endless loop during a flight? Or is it just a FS2024 induced bug?
I never had it looping , the pump just kicks in from time to time to keep hydraulic pressure up. So it could be a bug or a issue with the hydraulic system, but I don’t expect that much system depth with a basic sim plane .
Speaking of quality, for me it’s fine for a free basic plane , but I would be a dream to get a proper one from A2A or blacksquare
Nonetheless, there are still bugs and in the stream it looks it’s still in development, so keep reporting bugs and hope Hans finishes the plane .
Well it’s the Aerosoft one that it is doing this on so I doubt anyone is going to fix that for FS2024.
The default one is OK as far as I can tell, just a bit quiet for my liking and the model is just the short nosed variant.
I would put it down as missing only because the Marketplace is missing.
I will bet that when the Marketplace goes live, you’ll get your plane back.
There were myriad issues with 2020 addons causing issues with 2024, so, Asobo pulled them back to spend more time fixing compatibility, and I’m going to bet this is one of the reasons they decided to hold off on the Marketplace (not to mention they’re having a hard time with just the default aircraft of 2024 working in the sim at the moment, as shown through every single Polls thread. Ouch).
There is no SDK for the aircraft makers to get their planes compatible with 2024. That is why there is no marketplace.
You’re kidding, right?
- 2020 aircraft were supposed to work without modification.
- There is now both a 2020 SDK and a 2024 SDK
2020 planes were supposed to work in 2024 without any modification, but would not have 2024 features like mud, walkaround, etc., etc…
The question people were asking was, when would 2020 planes be upgraded to 2024 standards. For that, yes, the SDK was not released for developers until 11/19. But it’s been out now for over a week. But this is a non-issue regarding the Marketplace and 2020 planes.
The reason 2020 planes have not been available is because there are too many bugs, and Asobo is working day and night to clean things up so they work properly in 2024 without modification. (Well, that and a change in the way the UI interprets how to organize planes hid many from view)
As soon as the 2024 SDK is used, it has to be fully implemented. That’s going to take at least a few months before the first conversions are released since the 2024 SDK was only just released, developers have a lot to learn, and the code has to get more stable (we’re likely 3 Sim Updates from that). Possibly a year for some planes. But more likely 6 months or less. Update time depends a lot on how many planes a developer has to update, and how consistent they were in their development practices.
But, the lack of a Marketplace has nothing to do with a lack of an SDK. There are some critical compatibility bugs that have to be fixed, first. I think they know what many of them are. It’s just a matter of time.
Hah, it definitely is the “show 3D thermals” option. It’s a switch at the very bottom on the in-sim weather panel. I just activated it accidentally myself, just now.
Well I thought it was that, but I’m sitting checking out the SAAB 340 this morning for the first time and I have the exact same streaking cyan lines appearing in the sky while sat at the airport and “Show 3D Thermals” is set to ‘OFF’. They can change location too if you watch for a while.
Aliens!!!
It is happening all over. Even enroute in a flight. They come and go in various locations and always arc upwards. Can’t figure it out. Aliens or just Gremins in the sim?
Does anyone know how you can keep the aircraft docked when on the water floats variant? Finding the aircraft just drifts away slowly, is there anything you can do to “tie down” the aircraft to the dock? Many thanks
Are you flying with AI traffic on? I’ve noticed that very often they’re a bit bugged and almost formation fly. Was wonder if what you’re seeing is not bunched together AI planes, with their contrails being lit in an odd way?
Next time you see them, maybe try turning on traffic nameplates to confirm?
Just spitballing!
I am, but I don’t think it’s traffic. it’s just cyan lines rising up from above the ground. It’ looks like thermals would a bit, but smaller and more patchy and they change locations. Not specific to the Twotter though. Seen in various locations and during the day too.
EDIT:
I found out what is causing this it is thermals and it is linked to a new binding in FS2024 ALT+6 TOGGLE 3D THERMALS DISPLAY. Which is clashing and being triggered by my ALT+6 custom camera view. The thermals display toggle in the weather dialog interface can appear to be set OFF, but the toggle shortcut doesn’t change that switch but it does toggle the display of thermals.
