What systems depth? It’s nice to fly and sounds great but systems depth is not one of it’s strong suits.
You are right. What I wanted to say is that visuals are not important to me. Their airplanes work fine and espacially the bird dog is my most flown one.
Have it just the other way round. If it does not convince me graphically that I have a “real” airplane cockpit in front of me then no amount of systems dept or flightmodel accuracy are of value to me
Bought and flown the Just Flight Arrow a few times but stopped because of the hazy graphics in the cockpit.
I do need immersion and without it being graphically convincing to me it does not work.
everyone has their own priorities and preferences - what I can’t fathom is why some folks have decided to be hostile or antagonistic about it. To each their own.
A Twitch streamer posted a video of Twin Otter (in German). I do not speak German either, but it is the first lengthy video of Twin Otter, so I thought might be of some interest here.
It looks great. I think only the propeller animation at the start up needs some improvement, but this was already discussed at the Aerosoft forum, and it seems that the latest build has better animation.
EDIT: Keep in mind. IMPORTANT
From Aerosoft forum by Mathijs Kok:
"That twitch stream (not okayed by me btw) has sounds that are months old. I’ll ask Twitch to remove the video.
I suggest to to wait for the sounds, we still get daily new sounds recorded by pilots who assist us. and we will provide a sound set that is fully modern, so with all 3d placement etc."
thanks for sharing
Will be a good addition to my fleet
That really does look top notch. I cannot wait.
I am always amazed at what kind of simmers these devs give their beta products too. So strange.
It is a review test. They just attempted to find out what works and what not with the different versions of the Aircraft. A lot of banter about having a life-insurance and sinking the float version twice and in the end about a flying Heli without turning rotor. They cheat by enabling ‘no aircraft damage on crash’.
Generally speaking, they like the Aircraft, admit it still needs some more work, and look forward to future upgrades.
It’s not really cheating when the sim thinks that opening your weather window at 40 knots will cause the plane to disintegrate…
It seems that the streamer had a much older beta version with some stuff not up to date according to Mathijs.
So please consider it as a much earlier stage.
Ah and I thought only 90% of all YouTubers NEVER look at anything else than the upper left instrument panel (they never look back or even go back in the passenger cabin, never test any animated fluff functions of the plane like moving down the armrest of the chair and other stuff, never look down at the seat or at the copilot´s seat, never look at the middle console, never look on the overhead panel, and never look out through the left side window to see the wings and the turbine / or propeller, but always stare straight ahead at the same spot in the cockpit for 50 minutes up to 3 hours while the autopilot flies…)
But Twitch streamers do the same thing too ![]()
I wait for some Into the Blue, JayDee or AVAngel Youtube reviews of this plane, these Youtubers really go into the details and show the cabin and the cockpit and outside 3D model zoomed in from all angles ![]()
This really looks like a great plane! A medium-sized twin mot for cargo bush flights, perfect!
edit: These reviewers are great too. And it´s the exact same plane with this uniqué cargo box the Umbrella Corporation would use to transport a Nemesis or T-002 Tyrant I had back in the old days for FSX, but with new and enhances FS20 quality!
This Twotter will go along perfect with the Islander.
Looking forward to it.
A question for the Testers:
Has aerosoft made the (IMO poor) decision again to NOT include flight planning via the world map? As its the case for the CRJ? Or can I finally buy this one?
You can just use the MSFS flightplanner. It comes with the GNS530, and works as well with the mod for that.
And btw: you can buy the CRJ as well, just import the simbrief flight plan. Works like a charm, and the plane is a joy to fly.
I kid you not I always get comments under my VR vids to stop looking around so much and to just look straight the whole time. People love those bland locked viewed flight sim videos just staring at the same piece of cockpit panel. I’ve lost interest in most 2d simmer videos all together because of this.![]()

Thanks for the explanation for TO.
For the CRJ: It’s just not the same. I don’t want to use Simbrief. I want to do it on the world map. Works like a charm for DC-6. Only the CRJ doesn’t want it from what I’ve read.
There’s always manually entering your flight plan like a real pilot does. It’s not hard and has a page to page flow. You can learn from YouTube videos in 10 minutes.
I just dont want to.
OK, so you want to fly an airliner, but don’t want to plan it like an airliner, using a briefing app like simbrief
Luckily, this Twotter will be OK for you!
