When trying to launch an aerotow by wiggling the rudder of the glider, nothing happens.
The tow plane sound is increasing as it should, but the tow plane remaims stationary.
This was my first attempt to launch a glider with a tow plane since SU 15.

Hello @Super275327 and @DichterLakai537,

From which airport and runway are you trying to launch the glider?

Thanks,
MSFS Team

Hi,
used LOGO (Niederöblarn, Austria) as departure airport. Runway 04.

Hello @Super275327,

I was able to just successfully take off in a glider with a Cessna 172 tow plane from LOGO rwy 04. Please see the video below:

The issue you are experiencing is almost certainly caused by a mod/add-on. Please try temporarily disabling your mods to check if this resolves the issue for you.

Thanks,
MSFS Team

I did a quick test of LOGO using the 172 tow, and didn’t have any issues with the launch. Using an unmodded sim.

Hi,

Very intersting that it works for you. Looks like that I have to have a look at my addons.
Let the troubleshooting begin.

Hi,
Did some major troubleshooting. First with an empty Community folder. Did not help. Eventually I uninstalled and reinstalled the entire MSFS.
After a complete reinstallation, I noticed the followiung:
At LOGO the flight with a tow plane will always spawn on runway 04, irrespesctive which runway is chosen. If I select runway 22 for departure, or if I do not select any runway, the flight will always spawn on runway 04.
This is when the tow plane refuses to move.
If, however, I purposely select runway 04, as indicated by the green dot on the World Map as SET AS DEPARTURE, then the tow will work.
Seems that any departure from runway 22 will not work at LOGO for aerotowing a glider.

No issue on my side to start RWY22 at LOGO:

By any chance, do you have the ATC Enforce Flight Plan set to OFF ?, if so set it to ON:

Hi,
Thank you for the heads up!
I’ve never had that one set to ON. Frankly I don’t know why I would have to do that though since I never use MSFS’s ATC.
However I will try and report back.

Hi,
So I did try towing with the ATC Enforce Flight Plan set to ON, but no joy.
The tow plane would spawn in front of the glider, but the tow line remained disconnected and the wing walker never showed up. The glider’s wingtip rested on the ground.
In other words, having the ATC Enforce Flight Plan set to the ON position did not make any difference.
No worries though, I am quite happy getting a tow from runway 04.

At least you were able to spawn at RNW22 ?. Weird issue that you are missing the wing walker and the tow line for a specific runway. If I think to something else I’ll let you know.

Hi,
I was always able to spawn, it was just that the tow plane initially never moved, although I could hear revving up it’s engine.
Now when I spawn on runway 22, the wing walker even does not show up any more. Just tried again from runway 04 and all was well there. Really weird.

I did another test at LOGO. I didn’t select a runway in the WM setup, and the sim chose 22. Hit start, and it started on 22 with the wing walker in place, and no problems with the 172 towing me off the runway (although it did take the whole runway to get off!). I tested with “ATC enforce flight plan” turned “on”, but it automatically chose 22 for takeoff. Since I didn’t have a runway identified in the WM setup I assume that’s the default runway when I haven’t changed the wind direction and the wind seems to normally default to “270”. I’ve also got “gliders: tow plane takeoff assistance” turned “off” (assistance options/piloting).
You’ve tried without the community folder, so you’ve eliminated that. Have you tried it in “Safe mode” to see if there’s any other “official” add-ons or outside programs running that might cause the issue??
Regards

Can you record a video for us please. Obs works well to record.

Hi,
Sadly I have no clue on how to record anything on video on a computer. Sorry.

Have you purchased/installed any items from the Marketplace?

Hi,
Yes, I have several aircraft from market place installed, which reside in the Official folder.
