Did you notice the great improvements of the scenery since yesterday ?
At least in the Bordeaux area, La Teste de Buche, and southwest of Germany and Switzerland.
Even ship wakes, ocean currents, seasonal changes,
runways no longer completely covered in snow, rich contrast, excellent photogrammetry…
and much much more. In short: a living scenery.
The improvements are so well done, - I was stunned again.
At first sight I felt as flying in 3D. The scenery came once again much closer to flying in real.
Thanks, MS/Asobo !
No change seen on my fibre connection and fast PC. Sounds to me like your local circumstances have changed for the better. If this improvement continues then it may be worth to run a speed test on your internet connection .
I’m not a beta user, only devmode is on. Just trying the sim out again I think it’s still “experimental”.
As side effect, I can no longer move the world map .
Also striking was the additional diversity in fauna colors now.
Overall very promising, but not 100% functional now on my machine.
There seem to be some ongoing improvements on the landscape and photogrammetry in USA, Europe etc. I flew low across southern Germany a couple of days ago and I had the feeling too that there have been improvements. It‘s probably Bing that gets and shares better data.
I’m just guessing Blackshark AI got some more presents to crunch on for christmas and has been working 24/7 to get some work done before the devs come back from the holidays.
I doubt we only get updates like the world updates, i’m thinking in between certain area’s get an upgrade here and there as the data comes in from various sources and has to be adapted to work with msfs. So, the original poster might just have struck a bit of gold in his area. MSFS is still very much a “work in progress”.
Yes, I think it is !
I found these awesome new effects in the former homeland area of Asobo, - around Arcachon (Airport Teste de Buche in France). Maybe it’s Asobos area P 51.
On my machine it’s not working flawlessly yet.
Compared to the older scenery it could become a revelation.
For example flying along the shore lines of for example Carolina,
the ocean shows the same boring constant texture as far as one can see.
Now, In the Arcachon bay area I see how the depth of the ocean is beeing reflected in the simulation ,
which gives the interesting and lively stucture of the ocean currents as seen from above.
Just one example.
