After playing a few hours, FPS drops from 40 to 5FPS

Strange… I’ve not changed anything else other than the toolbar pushback and my fps has improved now. did have a strange issue yesterday though where my sim would ctd after filling in the perf page on the fbw experimental on the ground at klas… honestly removing toolbar pushback and installing again kinda worked for me but there will be something else somewhere that’s causing the degradation. Does anyone know if its worth messing around with the rolling cache or leaving it as it is?

Just finished a flight from KBDL to KORD and flight was perfect. First time in months. What changed?
I have changed nothing on my pc as far as hardware or software. I will fly the same flight later tonight from KORD to KBDL and see if luck holds and the flight goes well.

Same here! Moderate hardware, I had no problems in the past.
Now I flew a section of a bush trip and I almost crashed because of the FPS drop.
I checked the temperatures those were normal.

After dozens of attempts right now two days with no trace of the fps glitch.
I made about 5 flights each flight between 3 and 5 hours in a row.
And now for my solution …
First of all do a general reset to all the settings of your video card.
Then do whatever the esteemed gentleman in the attached video explains.
(Thank you very much)

By the way I deleted the plugin of push back. Tomorrow I will return it and continue the tests.
Let us know if this works for you too.
clear chase and if you have space my setting is 100gb.

are you guys getting fps degradation with all aircrafts or only with FBW A320X?

When I am flying Asobo A320 there seems to be degradation of fps when their is heavy cloud cover. I am flying above clouds usually at 38000 ft… Ihave been able to fly several flights in the Asobo A320 and have been able to c omplete them… ie. from KORD to KBDL. From KBDL to KMIA.
Several things helped me with this so far. I increased rolling cache to 32g… I am also using the NVIDIA Geforce Experience although I am not using custom optimization. I am however using their auto performance tuning. Getting on average 30 fps in flights over one hour at this time

Wow, thank you very much for the great youtube video. I used your settings along with a couple of my own and now MSFS is great again. I have an Nvidia RTX2060 and I cant believe how much fun flying is again. Tested at KORD with rain and heavy storm clouds and was getting in the mid twentys fps which is good with the storm clouds, rain etc. Thank you again :ok_hand:  :+1:

Thank you, I thought my MSFS was performing well to begin with but this helped removed the occasional stutters.

Just started a 7 hour flight from Dublin to Toronto.
Hopefully without framedrop.

After 4 1/2 hours all is normal.

Flight went well, no problems. 7h10m in total

again these extrem high memory usage of “nvidia share”. Did you let the cpu monitor open the whole x hours?

Many modern applications are often coded with almost no regard to memory usage. I refer to them as bloatware. Drivers can also have this problem, and they allocate memory from the paged/nonpaged pools instead.

ah… I meant these nvidia performance window …

not that in your case an issue comes from that  … 520MB for “Nvidia Share” is strange… as mentioned…

Can you check the “command line column” which of the process it is when its happens ?

image

And what exactly was your render resolution ?

this is the normal usage  … check it when one of these process consume again 500MB

Hmmm… the resolution is may be because of Multi-Monitor. May be that have also an effect, as like the panel-pop-out topic.

Any updates to this issue. Since the developers won’t post a solution or answer. Getting very frustrated. I spent hard earned dollors on this Sim, we desearve some sort of solution. PLEASE!!!

as in topic mentioned, PLEASE report the situation when its happend in your case… The route, the airplane, the time, may be system spec and basic game settings.

A topic for the beta you alread raised Low FPS after few hours of flying

After someone reported re-installing resolved their issue, I bit the bullet and removed all MSFS and re-installed. So, currently no additional add-ons are installed, only the base installation. I do have dual monitors, specs are in previous post. After clean reboot, started a flight, and 10 minutes in FPS dropped to single digits.

This is ■■■■!

After taking a break for a few weeks tried a 6 hour flight Dubai to London and after 4 hours …CTD! Give up…

Broken product, not investing anymore time or money into this.

Happy Easter.

Reinstalling the simulator (1,15 GB core files + …\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft Flight Simulator folder) seems to have solved the problem for me as well.
