With the previous version I got the following problems:
no more “top menu bar”;
downloading SDK not available;
C172SP Classic not proposed (only the G1000).
With the 1.11.6.0 these problems are still present and now arrows keys are not working and I have CTD at each session (I never had CTD before). W10 and all drivers are up to date.
The downloading from Microsoft Store (949.8 MB) was OK but I after launching MSFS there was no additional downloading (the same for me with the previous version). Is it normal ?
I had the 949mb download. After that I started the game then it took me back to the store a second time where I had to install MSFS a second time. It was only a small update though, it was not a re-download.
After those two sets of store updates I loaded the game where it installed a 12GB patch.
I rarely have an update issue but the prerequisites and install method really is horrible. Going by the trouble shooting steps there is way too many moving parts that have to be “just right” to work reliably.
Hello,
It’s what I did but MSFS linked me to the store and exited. I had the same “problem” for the previous version and it is why now I have a lot of missing data even if the version number seems to be OK. What can be done for recovering ?
Best regards
Each new update searches for the previous one. drove me crazy finally I uninstalled this infamous and never useless software from my computer and I fly with the P3D V5.1-PMDG 737 NGXu and I’m happy. I recommend it to those who want real flight instead of watching scenery. .
Hello,
It is true that the beginning of this software is really very irritating and frustrating for a lot of simmers but I think we need to be patient as many problems are a consequence of individual configurations and a lack of robustness of a soft to better account for these differences.
replying to the OP, the arrow key are broken for everybody with this last update.
Translate views up down right left no longer work, but Translate IN and translate OUT do work just fine as before. Also the Drone translate Down got broken.
The cure for all of this is just to go into controller options and reassign the keys or controller buttons to how you had them before.
You need to reassign 5 (the four up down right left on the cockpit translate views) and the down on the drone view.
There is a thread on Avsim about this , they are broken for everybody with the new update, but easy fix.
Translate up is called move view up or something like that in the options menu, etc.
Out of curiosity I recently had a ‘test’ flight with my P3D v.5.1 [my previous go to platform for many, many years].
And sadly, even with hundreds of pounds of TP ORBX software, the experience was just awful!.
So I bit the bullet and uninstalled all my P3d and ORBX software.
And whilst this act is tantamount to just throwing away a lot of money at least it liberated a great swathe of goodly SSD real estate!
