Can someone with the sim installed verify that having the live AI on causes stuttering and poor performance on even high end hardware? I was looking forward to this feature.
The overall ai traffic behavior in the previous sims (fsx/p3d) was quite the annoyance. From countless go arounds due to poor separation, to terrible ground handling. Im really hoping that ai traffic has been improved from the previous sims.
Also crossing my fingers that we will get (maybe from a third party) accurate models and liveries
id like to see the option of adding in alternate sources, and choosing which one you want to supply the data.
i prefer www.adsbexchange.com simply because it adds Military tracking when its available.
and while liveries would be awesome, just having a model of that aircraft type would be good enough for me, and a worldwide database of the models.
Given what was possible with ultimate traffic live in fsx/p3d, it would be hard to go back to generic aircraft. The data with flightaware could be super useful with the reg number. Not that every reg number Needs to be represented, but it could be used for special liveries. And example would be if the star wars 737 livery for united was in houston in the real world, it would also be at KIAH in the sim.
For those that are new. Ultimate traffic is an addon for the previous simulator (fsx/p3d) that supplied the user with real world ai models and liveries. It was also possible to have certain airlines park at there real world Concorses. (Like international airlines parking at the LAX international terminal)
I’ve seen over a dozen threads and replies now reporting anywhere from a 5 to 15FPS gain from disabling it unfortunately. Curious as well when I try later tonight.
no issues with me on that aspect
I rock a solid 60 FPS @ 1080 res with exception to scenery loading issues
Bugs i found about AI Traffic
- some commercial planes with a code from some airline company use a general aviation model
- another bug is when I doing an IFR flight many times I can hear that most AI plane has been told by the ATC that there are 10000 ft or more above the assigned altitude when all they are on cruise altitude
- the AI planes normally take too much time to clear the runway after landing so this make on busy airports massive go around to others AI planes and also players, sometimes l saw that they don’t choose the fist runway exit even with low speed
- many AI plane lading outside of the runway or they don’t calculate well the lading descend and they go around with a clear runway also the go-around is at very low altitude many times even after go around they still descent, I also saw some AI planes do a go-around at 200 ft long distant a and crash with a mountains
- the atc doesn’t comunicate much with ai planes,
- there no much planes landings and departures compare with Flightaware some planes appear in-game but some not, even they show up on in-game world map
- sometimes ai planes use the same parking spot where already was a ai plane
About general aviation traffic, is there any in the sim other than the airliners transformed into cessna?
a lot of airlines planes are represented like GA traffic in the sim but also theres real GA traffic with the correct model,
SlipperyHorse63. i cant quite make out what you are trying to say with those bullet points, but the problems you mentioned such as the large number of go arounds (due to poorly spaced traffic on landing) is something that I am all too familiar with as a former fsx and p3d user.
it almost sounds like ai behavior has not changed much from fsx.
well the problem is different I can’t talk about alpha and beta but this problem I already spot during that process and they ai don’t land on the runway even when is empty when in p3d they go around because there was another plane on the runway, the problem I found that the ai reach the runway with too much higher altitude to land on the runway so some ai go around and other they land outside of the runway and continue to ride the plane over the cities and mountain until they are far and disappear from the map and I also notice in the release version that there’s a new problem with runway alignment but I m still checking . is very disappointed the way the ai traffic is done in the sim caused not only didn’t improve that now is even worse than older sims
Is anyone else getting departure and arrivals times on the world map screen for a selected airport that are completely off from real world times? Also in game i do not see any ai traffic landing. I am at LAX btw. Am i missing anything?
I could see few hours ago and worked some times take few second to load, or can be the servers are offline but they normaly show on the screen
I’m letting AI fly the A320 currently but it’s doing 460 knots @ FL120 lol.

Yes the AI is almost the same as fsx but with more bugs cause is using live traffic so this complexity makes them worst but 2 weeks ago, they updated the feedback snapshot and they add the AI traffic is in progress so maybe soon we gonna start see improves
As someone who enjoyed traffic based on real world flight plans, aaand accurate models and liveries courtesy of ultimate traffic live, (in fsx/p3d) i am really hoping someday that asobo or a 3rd party will provide real models and liveries for ai traffic
I turned AI completely off, I don’t see a point in having the performance drain when there isn’t any liveries yet.
