How do you fly, All assists, middle ground, true to life or custom?
I tried the true to life and realised there is more to this flying lark than you would think. How on earth do you find the correct taxi way and that’s just for a start.

No assists, except checklist assist.
I have started to use littlenavmap in all my flights. It hooks up to MSFS and show plane position on map. When zooming in on map i see taxiways and until now the numbers are true to life (i fly on vatsim occasionally), whereas ingame they are pretty random numbers. Littlenavmap also display a trail of the flight and more… littlenavmap is a must.
Normally I would say “Charts”, but since MSFS randomly generates taxi-way letters, they’re pretty useless.
definitely more to it…
No assists, I usually start in a cold cockpit and do the startup. I will LATER go thru the checklists to see how I have done. Took a bit work to get to that point.
I struggle with taxiing too. Especially the markings/numbers. You can go online and search for the airport charts with all of the runways labelled… that helps IMMENSELY. Like these for Australia https://www.airservicesaustralia.com/aip/current/dap/AeroProcChartsTOC.htm
You can also turn on a taxi guidance feature that lays down blue arrows… I use that when I am lazy and just want to get in the air.
I use Littlenavmap, for reasons given above. One little niggle is that they give you taxi instructions, but don’t tell you the particular parking spot to use. You only see that if you turn on the taxi ribbon. That shows you the gate/parking spot to use, and this mirrors exactly what I see in LNM. It would be nice if ATC told you the spot as well, instead of the general area for GA parking, then I’d be happy to use LNM to find may way their manually. You can spot it at the larger locations as you will have a marshal, and push back truck sitting there waiting for you, but they aren’t always. Sometimes it’s just a non-descript spot, sometimes even without taxi way markings.
