The AI that detects the buildings needs to be updated.
It might be good for US and some European countires but its a turn off in the rest of the world, I am not sure how it wasn’t diagnosed during testing stage.
All the monuments,villages,forts,castles are replaced by Generic building( Checked most SOUTH EAST REGIONS, Some European countries. If the AI cannot detect the shape and size then we can rather have it a 2D sattelite imagery of it , which is still better then a 400 year old monument looking like a office building. That also includes house, my appartments does not even have a shape of similar size which is happening with everyone living near by countries as well.(India in my case, despite having a good sattelite coverage).
If you search on “India” (without the quotes), you’ll find a number of other posts complaining about the depiction of structures in India. There was a funny tech article recently that I absently mindedly posted in a thread about missing small airports, another complaint here and there, that shows some structures in the UK and Australia ended up looking unusual, too.
It isn’t perfect, but it’s made Africa and Asia actually flyable now.
It is probably never going to be able to do castles, forts, monuments, etc. accurately because those can not be pulled from a top-down view and modeled right.
What it is doing is still a huge step up from landclass. The rest will come from 3rd parties or freeware land mark additions.
