AI of a plane I do not own

It has always been a quest to be able to “see” planes in MP that one does not own.

It seesm this is possible ?

ie I do not own the Aerosoft 103 – I chose not to purchase it from the MS-Store

Yet, I seem to have the Aviator Livery for that plane, and do not seem to have much choice.
If I delete it, next time I start MSFS, I am forced to allow it to re-install.

So is this an example of a plane that I do not won, having a Livery / AI version on my PC, that would display if someone else was flying it in MP, or appear as an AI plane in my sim.

or Is it just an Install configuration error, and it should not be an option to load in my PC, if I do not own the plane.

Are ALL Asobo market planes available this way as AI, even if I have not purchased them ?

IF having non-owned AI planes is a reality, then could that be extended to ALL planes on the Marketplace ??

So may questions ? Do any of them make any sense, and if not, where is my thinking going wrong ?

@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@

All this was triggered by seeing

Could not open file: ‘SimObjects\Airplanes\Asobo_103Solo_SmallWheels\model\103solo_cockpit.xml’

in BuilderLogError.txt

ie I have the Livery, but not the full plane ??

There are numerous files missing in this aircraft to make this a “flyable” model, either AI or in the sim.
There is no AI.cfg, no flight_model.cfg, no engines.cfg and no gameplay.cfg.
There is also no sound file (not that it is needed though).

I would “guess” it’s there for a reason, but it doesn’t look to be an aircraft you would see while using the sim.

Just one more error to add to the list of errors that happen when MSFS runs,

Some say all these errors don’t matter, and are only there for the Developers ( to Ignore ? ), and that users need to remain Dumbed Down, and not take any notice of them.

What’s the error though? Are you seeing this pop up in your plane menu and are unable to select? Or some other kind of strange behaviour?

Or are you not happy that you have this file on disk when you don’t own the plane? I can somewhat understand that, but it’s not really an error, is it? We can agree to disagree on that, but I am interested in knowing if there’s an actual impact on gameplay, not just disk space.

Did you try deleting it from the Content Manager?

Seems to be MSFS putting files in place to support being able to see – but not fly – aircraft models that the player doesn’t own.

I get that clutter is a concern, and having disk space consumed by content you don’t own is a concern, etc.

But, look at it from other perspectives. You did buy the aircraft and when you fly it in multiplayer wouldn’t you deserve to appear in that aircraft from the perspective of the others in the session? They will sell a lot if they make it such that the purchasing user is seen by others in the aircraft.

Also, we used to really have to do some work to get aircraft models to appear in a multiplayer setting. Perhaps many will recall having to install the “bluebell” aircraft models.

I think the way they designed it, to “force” these aircraft models onto everyone, is a good thing because no one will ever have to do anything to get all the aircraft models to appear.

A couple of days ago I was taxiing around KJFK. Live Traffic was enabled. Two or three A380s with plain, generic liveries landed and taxied past me. I think there were several parked at gates. AFAIK there are no A380s in the marketplace or available from 3rd-party developers. I have no idea where these aircraft came from. And I do not consider seeing these as a pre-announcement.

Those are not A380’s.
They are just a two deck generic plane that was created for AI use.
