AIG AI Manager and Traffic Controller for MSFS

I’n pretty sure you could just uncheck the “ignore manual downloads” box and run Verify Setup, and the manager will update the manual downloads during that process (by asking you to download the appropriate zip)… but I’ve never tested that specific scenario. I do know that when the manual download fails – because the file isn’t at the target location anymore, usually – the verify setup will re-trigger the dialog box for manual download when it gets to that airline the next time it’s run. But that’s on a setup that’s never ignored manual downloads, so it’s not exactly the same as your situation. Worth a try, though.

I’m having issues where ATC won’t have any announcements for Boeing aircraft yet Airbus is absolutely fine. Anyone come across this?

will check the database, might be actual an issue with the language files in MSFS… there are some ICAO values (we have to use according to SDK) that are not added, so text to speech is not working… But good for us there is a workaround for those^^

No issues with my setup.

Will try that idea. Thnx!

As MSFS2020 just got really stable in the past days, AIG product just works and look outstanding!!! Im gonna try to activate the native GA traffic so skies become more populated. Does anybody recommend it? Can somebody tell me how?

:slightly_smiling_face: :+1:

I run GA at a low percentage (like 10% or so) with the GA folder from this mod:

https://flightsim.to/file/6787/offline-ai-traffic-stock-traffic-bgl-fix

… and it works fine with AIG.

So just to get this straight.

  1. Install the Stock Traffic BGL Fix mod: replace original layout.json and rename original .bgl file (both in the Official folder). Also add the mod’s GA files to Community folder

  2. Go to MSFS settings, set traffic to AI Offline and AI density to 30-50 or so. Also set aircraft ground density to 0.

  3. Launch AIG Traffic Controller, enable AIGFP and inject traffic. Then I should be seeing both MSFS-generated GA aircraft and AIG-generated airliners.

Am I missing anything or doing something wrong?

Can I also use Multiplayer at the same time? Should I leave generic plane models to off or on?

I’m asking because I seem to have consistent CTDs just before landing in different airports (perhaps 3-5 miles before the runway), as 3 out of my last 4 flights CTD’ed. And I suspect that the common denominator behind these crashes was AIG (where AIGFP and injection are always enabled):

  1. AIG + Multiplayer + Offline traffic (w/out Stock Traffic Fix mod) = CTD
  2. AIG + Multiplayer = CTD
  3. AIG + Multiplayer + Stock Traffic Fix mod = CTD

All in different airports while both AI and multiplayer generic plane models were set to off. I’ve seen an issue with CTDs just before landing where the fix was to turn ON those generic models. So I’m trying various combinations. Next step is to disable Multiplayer or at least set its generic model to on.

The problem is that the CTDs seem to be relatively consistent but they don’t occur immediately. I may fly over the airport a couple of times and the 3rd time (1+ hours later) it’ll CTD. So go figure. I only wish MSFS was more stable and wouldn’t crash so easily if it didn’t like an infinitesimal issue like a wrong livery or whatever.

Yep, I do exactly the same, but set Offline AI traffic at 50%. I use both the .bgl for GA Cessna and GA Other.
Works well!

Do you use generic models on or off?

Generic models off. That might be personal preference, but that said, I think AIG Manager setup requires they be off.

Wow is right - perhaps you’re new to flight sims?

Yes, you are clearly new to the AI game.

That said, it’s not for everybody. It takes time yes, but for those that value the result it’s very much worth it.

Just appreciate all of the fun (the computer says no to the other f word I’d love to use…) hard work that this developer has put in to creating this product… all free of charge… we absolutely appreciate :heart: all of that F…un work to create life at Airports that we fly to whilst we wait for Asobo..
Pain stakingly hard work, hours spent not with family of friends (have you have ever taken the time to try and lean then build the most simplest airport, let alone a ai traffic program… I built the very basic Auckland Airport, hours spent in my own personal time and shared it for all…)

Let me remind you just one more time…

All of this fiddly hard work done in their own personal time.. Offering this product, free of charge and continually providing US… users with an amazing product updated continually… Purely for our enjoyment and that we can use for free…

Purely for those quite direct words that you have used… “convoluted and annoying”
I do find that reply a slap in the face for all of us who put in those f…un hard hours for you users at the expense of time spent with friends and family out side of our 8-14 hour work days…

I for one… I am one of the more computer/software illiterate person out there, considering my age 30’s and growing up with computers during the 90s… I managed to click my way round and use youtube as a guidance…
AND WOW…
after a few tedious hours of learning, fiddling, following instructions and downloading…
I am loving this amazing AI traffic software… It has seriously brought so much that has been missing within this simulator!!! not even a cent of sixpence spent…

It is FREEWARE so you take it or leave it. There is no need to get hostile.

I used their manual and downloaded the first content within minutes. If you can’t handle it than that’s on you.

As one who started with AI traffic back in the days when it was an almost 100% manual process (except flightplans, models and repaints), I can tell you that AIG AI Manager is one hell of a tool and makes things WAAAAAY easier than ever before.

But then you have the issue that every addon plane might end up as AI, no? I still struggle to get GA AI using this approach with the modified traffic.bgl file somehow, last I only got a single Kodiak 100 next to… my Kodiak 100. Which is certainly not what I wanted, I do not want my addon planes to be used as AI, way to much load for my rig…

Amen to that! And not to mention you still had to be logged in to a bunch of different sites, then try to figure out what you needed from where,

Plus, from what I understand from previous comments on this topic (and please correct me if I’m off), most, if not all, of this really isn’t even a “fault” of AIG. They have to operate within the limits that the IP creators/devs put on their work, and some of them require it to be downloaded in a certain way and/or form certain sites, and things like that. So the AIG manager actually gets this all this “background” figured out for you, and then lets you go get it all easily.

I’ve actually had to re-download everything from scratch 6 times now (I get everything), and before AIG stuff like that was just too much for me. I used to get a few and then give up. At that point I was like some of the folks here - it just wasn’t worth the effort.

It’s not perfect, but it’s FREE, and IMHO, a great utility since I really dislike the default MSFS liveries.

I agree with you 100%.
It took me a while to get it all figured out, but once I did, and realized what was done by the installer, along with the great results, I am hooked.

There should be a fix for that, if you don’t mind poking around in the aircraft.cfg files of the payware planes you own. There’s a toggle that will remove the model from use as an AI aircraft. Of course I forget which config setting it is, precisely… but a forum search should turn it up fairly quickly.
