may have been asked but virgin atlantic has no models for me in aig manager, i tried to download a zip i found on avsim but not really sure how to add it as when i click install local zip all that happens is the file window closes and still no virgin atlantic aircraft any help would be appreciated
I checked my OCI folder and i have Virgin models and liveries like the A35K or 787. You can always try “verify setup” and see if it solves the problem.
already verified made no difference and ive just deleted and reinstalled virgin atlantic still says no model and cant find any in the oci.
ordinarily you would have to point OCI to the zip file to open it and install it.
Anyway we can improve performance from AIG planes? It’s a hog even for my higher end systen
It’s not so much the planes as the models are pretty well optimized (within reason), your system, if configured correctly, will be CPU bound as it struggles to keep track of all the Ai objects.
for a bit of context i previously used a custom vmr for model matching through vatsim using msfs native and 3rd party aircraft. The load on my system was huge due to all those 4-8k models being rendered. with the new pmdg 737-800 it dropped my frames to around 16fps which was unplayable.
Ive made the switch to an aig set up and my frames have doubled… this is no joke the same aircrfat being rendered at gatwick went from 16-34 frames on ultra settings. Cant say for what the difference live traffic will have as i use group only but its worth a try.
yeah ive done that and it just does nothing, i click install local zip point it to the zip file and when i click it and open the file viewer just closes with no chnage
Hello all, are any of you finding contact points for the undercarriage within the sim for AIG models are quite off as of late? I’m seeing a great number of aircraft with wheels suck half in the ground and also when they are taxiing they bounce as if going up an invisible slope then dropping down again constantly.
Does anyone know how I could troubleshoot these issues please?
where are you seeing this, all a single airport or all? The contact points are likely correct, if there could be issues with the airport (such as LOD changes) that makes it look wrong.
I have a fast question for the experts in this topic. I use AIG as model matching for VATSIM and I often get a red message saying that this or that livery can’t be generated. How can it be fixed, I have done all the texture verification, installed the latest liveries updates…
I encounter mostly this issue with all the Emirates fleet A380 and 777, it goes through all the different resgistrations without being able to generate any model in the end.
Would anyone have a solution or did I miss something ?
I tought i was the only one was getting this weird bug. It only happends on original airport i started at. (Planes stack on up of each other on the runway)
Oh yeah! It happens the 2nd time you visit any airport without restarting the sim. So if you do multiple leg flights, you will see this occurring on every airport you visit the 2nd time (not just the original one). The bad part is, the planes won’t disappear even if you close the AIG TC! Hopefully Kaiii3 can figure out why this is happening and what Asobo needs to change.
I’m seeing it at all airports all of the time.
The AI coding can’t handle sloped runways or taxiways, so the AI traffic stays level and jumps up or down as the surface level rises or falls.
Thanks for the explanation.
Any work around for people like me who do multi legs? Traffic does not work or gets buggy? Not even closing AIG fixes it.
If you don’t mind paying for it, go get therealtraffic. It’s true live traffic and it uses ai planes installed in your community folder. Our case AIG planes. So immersive. I took off from KSNA, which doesn’t open for takeoff until 7 am, and all the airlines began pushing back and taxiing around 6:45 am. Didn’t takeoff until 7 am, I saw like 10 planes lined up on the taxiway while waiting for others to takeoff. It was an awesome thing to witness. Plus you never have to worry about turn around issues.
If I do a search on “therealtraffic msfs” all I get is a bunch of online marketing companies.
