Airbus A320neo - PS5. Not possible to connect to SimBrief using SimBrief Pilot ID

I’ll also have a look later this pm. I’ll respond to let you know my findings :+1:

But there is a marketplace, so external content.

I agree, an end user doesn’t have to understand the complete system architecture of the simulator and which content belongs to which vendor. But if you file a bug report in the wrong forum and an insider tells you where to go, you should follow the advice. In the end it is your problem, and you are searching for a solution.

Nevertheless, I think this is not necessary in this case. This is not a bug from the simulator, nor from the plane. This is an end user mistake. You are using the wrong ID or wrong keyboard or whatever. A lot of people are using Simbrief in iniBuilds planes on PS5, so there must be an individual issue on your side.

The only aircraft that can use simbrief would be the inibuilds airbus’. Anything else there is not the funcionality yet. I tried on F27 - it will not connect and as you say, it recognises the connection to simbrief on the in left hand EFB but wont improt anything. The in sim EFB does not have the icon either.

We will have to wait until they add this

I set my Simbrief ID into the 320 neo. Which is what it asks for on the options page - when you go back to the Dashboard it says you have not put in your Username - it will not connect for me either.

I have different gaming tags for pc and ps5 so that might be an issue for me. But it is odd it connected for me in the F27 but not the Neo??? :man_shrugging:

I have contacted Navigraph so hopefully they find a solution for me. I added to your report that it does not work for me either.

Silly me, I replied to myself instead of you - see the post above :joy:

The Navigraph Onboarding token is a complete different story, not comparable with the Simbrief ID.

So why don’t you use your Simbrief Username?

Try.
Enable on screen keyboard

Type Simbrief ID (not username!)
Then press the down arrow on the on screen keyboard to confirm.

Thanks Ten, I will try the down arrow as this was the only thing I missed :+1:

Thank you for linking my post here.
I hope you have found a solution for your problem.

It would be so cool if we could get integrated simbrief app in the default ingame EFB. Additionally would be nice in the future to use also navigraph charts on PS5 in the avionics like its possible on PC.

I agree, the expert’s advice should be followed, in general.
But… MSFS 2024 on PS5 is new for all of us and the PS5 is a fundamentally different platform. Therefore old and tried procedures might not apply.
I think that many PC users have trouble to imagine what a closed system actually means, we also see that in some of the comments here.
Hence my problem with what seemed an automatic reflex from the moderator: when the word ‘SimBrief’ appears, it is nor for here. IMHO on PS5 things can be a little more complicated then that

If you’re having an issue with SimBrief, you should report it on the Navigraph forum, as Navigraph acquired SimBrief some time ago and is responsible for it.

Likewise, if you’re having a problem with the tablet (EFB) in an iniBuilds aircraft, you should report it on the iniBuilds forum, because iniBuilds is the developer of the aircraft - not Asobo.

So, if someone replies that you should report your issue on the Navigraph and/or iniBuilds forums, they’re correct, whether you like it or not. Those are the developers responsible for those products.

In any case, see if my suggestion helps.

Also, keep in mind that your SimBrief ID contains more than three digits. Based on the screenshot you posted, it looks like you only entered the first three digits.

I’m pretty sure, bugs should be reported to parties responsible and not to someone else, even if it is a new platform.

A solution was found, but before you comment please read this carefully.

The in-build PS5 keyboard, that pops-up whenever data is entered in to a field, does not function with the iniBuilds EFB fields.
One has to close the pop-up keyboard, open the iniBuilds EFB internal keyboard (if not already there, through the EFB options page) and enter the SimBrief pilot ID in the appropriate field, then enter using the EFB keyboard’s appropriate key, the ‘arrow down’. Only then will it register and can one download the appropriate SimBrief flight plan.

So, it is not a SimBrief issue. It is only about SimBrief data not being registered in the iniBuilds EFB.
One could argue that it is an iniBuilds problem. The issue appears with all iniBuilds airplane EFB’s.
One could also argue that this is a Microsoft / Asobo problem, apparently a cache field is not emptied somewhere during the process. The PS5 keyboard does not register in the iniBuilds EFB. And apparently this is an issue that Microsoft is aware of.

In other words, IMHO referring this issue instantly, without any investigation, as a SimBrief issue, not for Microsoft, is very premature.

The above procedure is the solution, although maybe more of a work around.
A real solution has to come from Microsoft, I think: make the PS5 pop-up keyboard do it’s work.
I will not discuss this topic any further, thanks to all that helped in finding a solution.

And I also still think this is a Bug.

workaround tag added and post with the workaround marked as the solution to indicate users where to look for.

I have identified a related report that is feedback-logged : Simbrief on PS5? Need to use EFB Keyboard

That’s exactly what I described a few posts above - you need to enter your SimBrief ID using the iniBuilds internal keyboard.

So I think you should mark my post as the solution
