Ciao guys,
once again I need help and suggestions, this time because I am struggling to land the beautiful H135.
I am not that expert in flying the helicopters, but with both the "assisted tail rotor " and the “assisted cyclic” on, I can satisfactory land all the helis (Guimbal Cabri, B407, B429, H125 by Cowansim) all but the H135.
It flies perfectly good (and easy), but when it comes to hover it close to the terrain and slow it down …it becomes herratic …it moves backwords and or laterally and as a matter of cat I am not able to land it where it is supposed to land …
Clearly I am doing something wrong, or to say with different words, I am not doing what I am supposed to do, in order to keep it stable in hovering above the land target …
Any suggestion from you guys would be appreciated !!!
Have a nice weekend

Hovering is the most difficult part flying a helicopter. In the real world is takes a long time mastering this part of flying. One thing : don’t overreact the controls, delicate inputs are the key…
Thanks Crosswind59.
I am aware that “piloting” helicopters requires quite a lot of experience.
This said, my problem with this H135 is that it behaviour is so different than all the other helicopters I fly with …I accept the fact that I am doing something wrong, but if I do not find out “what” I’ll never be able to land this helicopter.
As I said, I have no problems with all the other helicopters …

I give it a try this morning hovering the H135 and let you know how it behave…
Wind 270/21. Flew with H135 from Ameland EHAL to oil rig nearby. Hovering and landing under control. Using the Airbus Thrustmaster and quadrant.
Doesn’t the H135 use an external flight model in which case it would make sense the in-game assist are not… well assisting you.
Personally I would say turn the assists off and learn to fly helicopters without the assists, far more rewarding in the long run. While you are learning make sure you are flying in clear weather.
I would also check YouTube to learn more about helicopter flight which can be very useful to understand how the controls work together and what to expect with regards to primary/secondary influences of control input.

I cleared the axis assignments in FSUIPC. (Ignore Axis). Controls are more fluid without interference of FSUIPC.
Ciao Crosswind59,
forgive my ignorance, but what FSUIPC stands for ?
In the meantime, I have purchased the Cowansim MD500E, and also with this one I have no problems. My point was since the beginning that the H135 has a quite different behaviour when landing, different from all the others, and I was wondering IF this is by design …and if so, one or the other: or this is the only one simulating the “real behaviour of helis”, and all the others are not, or viceversa …
Ciao,

The HPG 135 is a strange animal. I’m fairly good at helis but it’s impossible to land delicately. Another oddity is it seems to have been set up as an aircraft rather than a heli as traditional heli bindings do not work … seems to want aircraft bindings. Takeoff and flight are fine, but at some point during the approach it goes nuts.
It’s a shame because it’s a really nicely crafted machine … if HPG would do a bit of work to it and apply heli standards/bindings it could be a winner. It’s freeware tho so I guess one can’t expect much …
